Is FreeRepublic going away? There are fewer and fewer articles posted.
The list of sources which CANNOT be posted from for copyright reasons SQUELCHES the # of posts that can be generated here.
This list used to not even exist.
BUT... if you look at all the rules here at FR about what you CANNOT post, then I think you will understand why there are fewer postings now.
LOL!
Moderators are supposed to be impartial...Unfortunately, like everywhere else, they’ve got their favorites and that’s the way the game is played.
Im going to have to check out the FB page - before it gets shut down. But if FR itself is getting less readership, its because it has a ton of vanity posts now and way too many unsupported booms.
Even with a good source, nobody ever reads the source before opining. But of course thats nothing new.
I still go many times a day, but it is becoming less useful as a good source of hard info. But that can change. This is a rough patch for us all.
On the good side, Ive seen a few new posters and also I think the old technology might be hardier, so dont give up.
To your question - yes, I noticed a few weeks ago the rate of news posted was slowing down.
I’ll step up. I’m scanning a lot of places. Bongino, JustTheNews, AmericanGreatness, etc.
One thing I noticed too is the effect of everyone in-the-know or on the front-lines are posting on Parler or Twitter. So the little snippets have good links or kernels of news but it gets a little ‘chatty’ if we post all of their Parleys or Tweets. (President Trump excluded. Everything he tweets is worth posting.)
John/Jim - that might be a cool idea - a sidebar of just folks we like and follow - their parleys and tweets that are newsworthy. I.e., a quick post like an RSS feed and then a click to convert it to a regular post.
Because, we look at both side here, and it helps to actually see the fake crap, and then watch it get torn to pieces here by the truth!
Vanity posts are up.

LOL...
Along with ‘my blog’ post. Which I guess
are a sort of vanity.
She sings the song of my people. ;)
Shrinkage? Like a frightened turtle.
Yes, I know, and I agree that we need to see both sides (not that we can find much for “our side”).
I have always thought it is important to see what “everyone else” is believing.
But I am admittedly stunned by the depth of the evil that took place with the election, and I don’t seem to be shaking it off too well so far.
If so, I have a theory that it would be due to;

Vanities have zip to do with readership. After this election, most are simply pissed off, burned out, depressed and or are being cautious due to the fact there is so much fraud and bull s**t being reported. Instead of posting as usual, most are taking a wait and see posture.
You need to head over to The_Donald.win. We aren't depressd over there, and we deport those who show up just to blackpill.
FReegards!
I dont mind most of the vanities. Makes it feel like a community. But the boom posts of stories from sites of questionable veracity get to be a bit much. Even more so if they get posted as breaking news. Those always end up eventually finding their right place once the mods get to them, but it would be nice if people took a little more care with regard to which category they post things in.
Could be some election fatigue....
So why aren't you there and why are you using FR to promote it?
Im a little shy of posting anything cause people have been rude about it.
Like they get mad if its a double post even if its not in search or etc. I get discouraged.
Nope, we all had to get back to WORK! - real jobs. not politics...
She will need FR to be at the head of those "deplorable" lists when the burnings start...
Currently scheduled/projected for next April or May...
Damned straight I do.
Im sure hes managed to run off some people.
Yep. Mostly blog pimps who wish to profit from FR's traffic.
And I'll do it again.
Also, failing to ping folks that you mention makes you look like a little whiny coward.
