Sunday night my husband went to the hospital because he was feeling winded (48 years old). He had had shoulder surgery about 2 weeks prior so he was chalking it up to tensing too much from pain.
They did several tests on him, admitted him, more tests and then told us he needs an open heart triple heart bypass (family history)-- we are devastated and could really use your prayers right now.
My husband said "Have Faith" but to be honest, I feel like my wells are empty and I am having a hard time drawing upon them. I am scared...we have been married 30 years and he is our family's rock.
I know so many families here have gone through much more and I have so much to be thankful for... we probably found it a month away from a heart attack (50% clog, 90% clog, 80% clog).
Surgery is tomorrow at noon and I would appreciate you holding my husband Keith up in your prayers...thank you freeper family~

terart - this runs in my family, as well, and has also affected many of our friends and associates. All of their cases resulted in various open bypass surgeries. Every one of these surgeries were successful, and all friends and family members have returned to their normal lives. I say “normal”, but I should say, they’ve returned to better lives. My brother, in his 70’s, came through it two years ago with flying colors and cleaned his yard of many tumbled trees after two hurricanes this year, a massive amount of work. I will pray for your “Rock”, as I’ve prayed for my various rocks and pebbles, all dear in their own ways. Be strong. The Lord, the “Rock of Ages”, is with you.

When you are empty, draw on God.
My wife is a cardiac intensive care nurse in a cardiac ward. I know this is very scary for you, but this surgery is as close to routine as you can get. Being very graphic and straight with you, the survival rate is above 98%. I won’t tell you to not worry, but he has a very very good chance to be just fine. Everybody will be praying for you.
Bless the hands of the surgeons and the rest of the medical staff. Give them skill and wisdom to do their job as they work to help Your child with his medical problem.
Aid in his healing as he recovers.

I had a double back in March. I was walking the 340 foot course within three days, had my lung capacity back within two weeks, and no infections or complications. I needed no aid at all when I got home. I was very lucky compared to others who have had this. The doctors just kind of shake their heads at my condition. They put me in the top 1% of patients that have gone through this. One thing to remember - modern medicine has done wonders in the past decades. This type of operation is becoming more commonplace than 30-40 years ago. Sacrifices in diet are essential but the alternative makes it all worth while.
