Don Rickles and Joe Piscopo go toe to toe in this sketch in trying to one-up the other.
Video, 6 minutes & 16 seconds
*Humor ping*
Back when comedians used to be funny.
Ill do the funny stuff, you just do the regular lines. I loved it! I miss Don Rickles.
Rickles on the Dean Martin roast is pretty awesome too.
Thanks for the laugh. Don Rickles is a master.

Rickels really did look like Frank Fontaine (Crazy Guggenheim) with that hat on. I wonder if that line was ad libbed like so much of the rest of the sketch.
SNL was a lot funnier back then.
Last I heard he was doing a radio show out of New Jersey. ("Are jou from Joisey? Ahm from Joisey!") I thought he stole "Johnny Dangerously" being funnier than the star Michael Keaton ("My mother said that to me once. Once.") I wish he would make a come-back because what passes for comedians nowdays aren't in that league. Too many that are won't perform because of political correctness fascism. This is the Macarthy Scare crap totally reversed to serve a move toward Communism. Oh, humor. Sorry. I'm just super angry.
There was some hope that Piscopo would run as a Republican for Governor of New Jersey. I hope he considers doing so in 2023.
Yes, he did steal “Johnny Dangerously” from Keaton. I was sorry to hear Keaton recently going full-on Stalinazi in support of Plugs, the Pedo Puppet of Red China.
