They do not require a phone number. There is a skip option. And it is only when you sign in that they ask

That’s not cool. They don’t need your cell number. Thought about looking into it, but won’t if that’s what’s going on over there.

I hve been on Parler for almost 1 1/2 years, but rarely use it until now, and am still learning my way around. I have not made any comments, but uptick/like others' comments similar to Twitter, for now. I haven't posted on Twitter for 2 years since getting kicked off, but occossionally ck Trump's tweets and a few others.
As I mentioned, I am a rookie on Parler, but I have noticed a couple of apparent attempts to impersonate celebrities today while hanging out there. For example, I was looking for Maria Bartiromo also, and found this when I did a search for her:

@realMariaBartiroimo (Note the misspelling of the last name.) Unlike Twitter, @real in front of the name may not actually get you to the right person. Look for a "Parler Influencer Badge" at the edge of the person's picture.

Maybe I am wrong, but I view Parler as a substitute for Twitter, not necessarily for Facebook though. If someone can suggest an alternative for latter, please say so.

The best way would probably be existing members mention it to Parler admin right in the platform. That the mandatory phone number requirement is preventing a lot of people from switching over. And right now is a very good time to fix it if they want all these folks who are ditching the other platforms.
Got MeWe going, but how can I limit what I can see on the main feed? I only want posts from contacts/friends to show up, not everything!

If conservatives weren’t so damn lazy, we would make our own. Say what you want about the liberals, they are resourceful and intelligent. All we can do is say “I am not supporting x company or y company” or “I am never voting Republican again”. That’s how you lose a civilization, laziness.
Sometimes it is honestly embarrassing.
