1. What State?
2. Is your precinct GOP, DEM, or Mixed.
3. How does the turnout compare to past POTUS elections?
PA (Bucks County/Philly “Collar” Burb)
~ 50%/50% Mixed
Early in the morning about a 1/2 hour wait (part of it outside, and it was chilly). A couple hours later there was a shorter wait with a steady line of 20 - 30 people the whole time.
Austin, TX in a precinct that leans D.
Mixed- Blue collar working class
Heavy turnout
1. Tennessee
2. Heavy GOP (Just east of Memphis)
3. Lighter, but we have a heavy early voting record.
In light of number 2, (and I wish I had been able to take a picture) someone replaced the Biden signs with a sign with his picture and “Joe Biden. I won’t work for the people.” If anyone has noticed, they do not care.
Change “won’t” to “don’t”.
Montgomery County, PA
Precinct is Democrat
Seems unusually heavy, but its hard to compare due to covid:
1) purposely slowing everything down for distancing
2) increased apparent line length due to distancing
3) new non-touch screen voting process and machines - learning curve plus the old touch screens were just quicker
Also, we voted at 7AM - which we havent done in the past - it could be normal concentration of people voting before work.
Excellent pic. I was in Lancaster county last week - Trump signs all over the place. I believe the Amish are going to come out in huge numbers for Trump.
Southwestern PA. In my 30 years of voting at the same place never had to wait in line. Today it took me an hour to vote. Parking lot was full. My district leans Republican.
South Carolina (Lexington County)
Heavy turnout-waited two hours at 0700
IL 04, 90 miles West of Chicago. 6am and took 45 minutes. I don’t think here has ever been a long line at poll opening time. Still a long line when I left. I’d say about triple what I normally see.
And imagine- 90M people already voted early!
I predict we will have the joy of saying “more people voted for Don John Trump than any other candidate in USA history”.
Imagine if he is the first president to earn 100,000,000 votes.
First time voting in Smiths Station Alabama. Republican district with insane lines. I have been here over an hour. Even some Auburn fans are wearing some shade of red.
ping for later.
Just curious...were there Covid “processes” that might caused the process to slow down?
I made a good living doing queuing systems. If they add 10-15 seconds to each “transaction” without adding capacity...the lines are going to get real long without increasing the total “transactions.”
Think of the grocery store lines on Thanksgiving eve. There are huge lines...and they add two more cashiers...and the traffic starts moving again.
I am trying to figure out if there are MORE people, or if it is taking MORE time.
I know...its nerdy.
It ain’t that nerdy
It is logic
I wish more people thought in these terms
After almost 40 years of dealing with Queues...I cannot go anywhere without trying to predict my time in line...and how to improve it.
It drives my wife nuts.
ROFL
Do not try..Do.
That PIC brought to mind an old movie from the '60's "THE WAR WAGON"!
I don’t think Covid caused any time delay. People were wearing masks but there were just more people than I have ever seen at my location. No one was social distancing.
Huntsville Alabama; between 600 and 1000 people in line; 3+ hour wait; never seen more than 50 people before.
