Virginia lines

Posted on 11/03/2020 6:06:10 AM PST by Billie Bud

I’m in southwestern rural Virginia and voted early on Friday. Took about fifty minutes at 9 am. About fifty people in line at any given time and the line never shortened. My husband and I were 7253 and 7254 and all early voting in my county was held at the county offices in one area.

Now the voting has moved into individual precincts. By 8 am, one of my friends in an even more rural precinct had voted and was number 1002.

So, this is going to be a blowout in percentage of eligible voters.

Just saw a post from a friend in Virginia Beach at his voting precinct at 5:40 a.m. and the line was hundreds of people long and took him almost an hour to vote. He stated the line remained long even after he voted. Another friend from a different precinct in the Virginia Beach area chimed in they were seeing the same types of lines.

Mind boggling. But Governor Sauron I mean Northam played a REALLY heavy hand to Virginia Beach over virus lockdown and hit their economy hard. He made some vacation rental owners and beach goers along with restaurant and mom and pop stores dependent on tourism VERY upset with him. Plus most schools are still virtual.

I voted at the Terrapin Cove precinct in Gloucester Point, in the very red county of Gloucester... at 0705, I was voter #125. It was busy, but not yet backed up out the door.

I’ve been in Hampton Roads almost 30 years. Virginia Beach and Chesapeake are lost causes. They were once solid Red but now, and I don’t really know why, that’s gone. If there are long lines it’s most likely more Demon than Rep.

Here’s hoping VA Republicans turn out in unprecedented high numbers. That’s what it’d take to get VA over the top. Not one eligible conservative voter should be sitting this one out.

I will say, my office is made up of about 10 conservatives and they and their spouses all voted early. Same with my wife’s work at a Christian pre school. All conservative, all voted early.

.....same with Texas....lots of folks moving here from California and then they say, why can’t Texas be more like California...?? many parts of Texas are now purple, when they used to be solidly red conservative.... we’ll see....probably not tonight...with all of the issues regarding ballots, etc. I doubt we will know who the winner is for about another week...

Where are in in S.W. VA? I’m in Pulaski County and getting ready to vote shortly (TRUMP!!). Wanted the early morning lines to dwindle and get there before the lunch crowd shows up.

I know Northern Virginia is lost. They ALWAYS turn out and vote in large numbers.

COULD it be that with everything at stake that finally the REST of the state sees the danger of a Biden presidency and will show up in massive numbers and vote Trump?

Hillary Clinton 1,981,473 49.8%

Donald J. Trump 1,769,443 44.4%

213,030 difference.

Are there enough Democrats who are tired of Black Face Northam? Are there enough long dormant Republicans who will finally be heard?

We can hope and pray.

Yes, Governor Coonman had such a heavy hand on gun control that even some of the uber-liberal Democratic legislators, like Surovell, wouldn’t support him.

Trump came to Newport News, which was strategic. There was a rumor he might come back to VA, but it didn’t happen.

I live in No. Va. In the last election, the line on voting day was about half an hour long. I’m six-foot, not especially tall these days, but as I waited in line, I realized that I was looking over a crowd at least a head shorter than I was. I reminded me exactly of a time, many years ago, when I was standing in line at the San Yisidro border crossing comming back into the U.S., only now I was already in the U.S. How things had changed.

Deep behind enemy lines ,in New York, the family and I voted. There have been long waits. A much larger voter turnout this election than I have ever seen. Say a prayer for our President to be re elected!

VA is NOT out of reach.

Student shortfall + black shortfall + Trump-voting blacks + crazy #s from whites, over 50, men and non-college may be enough

I am in Leftist-Occupied Chapel Hill, NC. I wandered over about 9:30, a very small line.

Funny story though... There was a short line when I walked up (about 8 people). There was an very nice elderly black woman who was in charge of keeping people social distancing in the line. On the ground was a strip of blue tape every six feet. Directly in front of me was an Asian gal (on her cell-phone and not really paying attention) and after her was an Asian man and then myself.

The nice elderly woman in charge of the line, walked to each person making sure they were toeing the line. A few inches short and she let you know it. When she got to the Asian guy in front of me, he smiled and stepped up to the line and squared his shoulders at attention. She told him to move up. He looked at her oddly and said, “huh?”

The line monitor lady told him again to move up. He told her the line hasn’t moved yet.

She told him that family members don’t have to social distance.

Again, he looked at her and politely questioned what she was talking about.

The kind elderly lady persisted, “People who are related and live in the same household do not have to social distance, now move up.

Haha, he realized what she was getting at and said nicely (pointing toward the Asian woman and then back at himself), “Ahh, I see... Um, I don’t know her.”

The lady tried to explain to her again, “If you live in the same house, you do not have to social distance, move up.”

By this time, the rest of the people in the line were all chuckling but not saying anything. The Asian guy said, “We don’t live in the same house because I do not know who this person is. Ma’am, we may both be Asian but that does not mean...”

The nice elderly black woman’s jaw dropped realizing her faux pas. She was sincerely mortified and began apologizing profusely. The Asian guy smiled and was very good about it. The timid little Asian gal glanced over her shoulder to see what the commotion was about and returned to her phone.

It’s reachable ... IF... GOP voters bother to turn out in massive numbers. NONE can sit this one out.
