PORTLAND, Ore Why does Portland look so dirty? Why isn't anyone picking up the trash? Those are questions we hear repeatedly from residents and business owners, who say the city has never looked worse. But cleaning it up is complicated.
If you drive along any highway or busy street in Portland, you'll likely see garbage. In some spots, the trash is contained in bags or heaps. In other areas, it's scattered for what seems like miles.
Tim Peters lives in North Portland, right along Interstate 5. He doesn't mind that people are camping near his home. He says they need a place to live, but the trash is a problem. He and his neighbors clean it up, but there's only so much they can do.
"I'd say that pile's been there about a week," said Peters. "We've called the city and asked for help. We haven't seen anything."

Easy.... Trump needs to come out as being Pro Trash. Portland will be spotless within hours.
Let them wallow in it.
Even all that rain wont wash away all the crapola that is currently wrong with The City of Roses.
Ain’t socialism great?
They need to pick up the human trash first.
They burned up all the dumpsters?
Portland voted for this.
If they are camping there will be trash.
He cant have one without the other.
Bleeding heart liberals deserve what they get.
My compassion and sympathy for so many of my fellow humans has just about drained out completely. Especially if they are dems or liberals.
I have a feeling I wont lose much sleep over this issue in Portland tonight.
Or any other night.
Heap it up and tunnel under it. Itll warm the homeless as it composts.
And these are the “enviromental” fanatics who worry about climate change and can’t even get rid of their own garbabe.
“I have a feeling I wont lose much sleep over this issue in Portland tonight”.
I am bothered, because Portland downtown used to be a very nice place to visit, even exceptional (when I was a kid). We stayed downtown every Thanksgiving for the long weekend; visited Macy’s or other department store Christmas displays and shopped for presents. Loved the toy departments.

Keep cleaning up after them you moron, and they'll never leave. Next thing they'll be moving into your home once the snow storms hit. They're like stray animals. Keep feeding them, and you'll never get rid of them.
“....how does Portland address trash problem?”
Vote them out of office.

Arrest them and send them to Seattle. Then declare the situation as the new Green Deal.
Stop electing them!
