He died on the 21st.
They played a gig at a frat house at UF when I was there.
RIP
I met that one hit wonder in a bar.
Not really a one hit wonder. Outfield had a lot of great tunes. What a shame.
All the musicians seems to be dying lately.

Someone had "Playground" on a mix tape that, when it was cranked, was a quasi-religious experience. RIP.
Dang. Was not a fan of the Outfield by any means, and back in the 80s, I was deep into my alt goth/industrial rivet head phase (so most people on the freep would probably listen to my music and say, “Shop class with a drum beat? Ugh!” — that being said, they had catchy songs.
So sad when any 80s rocker dies when Keith Richards, like the Highlander, absorbs their energy force...
Like Throbbing Gristle? Actual Rivethead?
Didn’t he die a while ago? I was never a fan of castrato pop, but I always felt people who put themselves up front in rock bands, or any band for that matter, have nuts of steel so I can’t bash the guy.
I remember that song!
One of the greatest voices in music history, very underrated. RIP Tony Lewis.
Every time you cry is a great ballad by The Outfield
Ugh. Listened to “Slug Bait” once in my life and never could figure that mess out. Never mind what Genesis P-Orridge ended up turning himself into prior to his death back in March . . .
Nuts. My favorite band. Check out Tony’s latest release “Out of The Darkness”. You won’t be disappointed.
I see 3 sites stating that he died the 19th, so I wonder which date is correct.
I was a huge fan. Saw them open for Starship in ‘86 and then for Mike & the Mechanics in ‘89. They were fantastic live. What a voice.
