How do the rank and file feel? The “union” may endorse but what about the members? My neighbor is in the IFFA and I believe they have endorsed byeDUHn but lots of the operators are like, uh, NO!

Blackelk (R.I.P.) had a postmark issue, but rather than back date the envelope, he had the clerk (who he knew) smudge it so it was illegible. That was decades ago, and the technology is different now.

This “could” happen.

Conspiracy theory. Unless they have a way of seeing who was selected on the ballot, they do not know if the voter was D or R.

I remember back in the "olden days" before the Internet that there would be a long line of cars at the Post Office on April 15th. This was back when you had to actually mail in a paper copy of your Tax Return.

No matter how late into the evening and into the early morning of April 16th you waited in line, the Post Office would accept your return and postmark it "April 15."

So yes, it can be done.

That section, although it sounds disturbing, relates to Special Event or Pictorial Postmarks...

At least 10 weeks before the date of the event, sponsors or organizers of events who wish to use a pictorial postmark must submit a letter of request to the postmaster of the city where the postmark is to be used. Requests submitted less than 10 weeks before the date of the event are subject to rejection.

Not that it would be impossible to change the date stamp on a postal machine, but it would be a multi-person effort.

Good thread thank you.

“10 Backdating and Pre–Dating
It is the policy of the Postal Service to prohibit backdating and pre–dating of mail except in the following cases:

(a) When postal operating requirements and public demand necessitate that postmarking commence before and/or continue after the date contained in the postmark. However, under no circumstances may any postmarked material be released before the date of the postmark.
(b) When replacements are made for damaged, defective, or missing postmarks or covers.
(c) When all requirements for postmarks are met by a customer but postmarks are not applied because of errors by Postal Service personnel.
(d) When authorization is specifically provided in writing by a Stamp Services manager.”

Any company that runs there own mailroom, has the capability to do this with there metering machine as well. (Unless safeguards on newer equipment have been put in place?)

Don’t business office have this option, too? Don’t they have their own stamping machines?

1) Long before the first ballot was ever cast through mail-in or otherwise, the ballots were constructed and printed.

2) Looking at poll numbers, it is easy to formulate the amount of ballots for each party to receive.

3) Already, LSM is reporting mail-in ballots that have been cast already by party line and cumulative totals.

4) Given that ballot harvesting through non-traditional means can be cast along polling percentages and it would seem that there was nothing out of the ordinary in total cast votes on election day.

5) Minus the in-person vote cast.

So they take the already printed ballots and even before the first vote is cast, create a stash of ballots for their candidate. Then put these into manageable boxes with a number that would not make anyone suspect they are illegal. For example to psychological numbers like 0, 5, 9 or 7 endings. Then they just have to wait to find out what the deficit is and magically come up with enough ballots to overcome the deficit.

As to the “we don’t know who voted for whom” mantra, that is what they are telling you. First all mail-in votes are already being opened and processed to “be counted”. One can tell by piles who has the most vote and an exact pre-count does not have to be done. With millions of ballots being mailed in early, it will be easy to tell if a Party A pile is bigger than Party B pile. To think this is just happening at the national level is a misnomer as was the case in California in 2016.

For those that dismiss the early ballots are not being counted they are 100% wrong. Early cast votes are being counted if only done summarily. Ballot harvesting is made so much easier with mail-in voting as already over half of 2016 total votes have been cast for 2020.
