It turns out that on Thursday, the last Thursday before the election, Instagram basically broke itself across the entire United States. Hashtags still reportedly work outside America.
But until Election 2020 is resolved — whenever that is — Instagrammers in the United States won’t be able to use hashtags.
It does affect the campaigns and the ability to move political messages on the Facebook-owned platform.

Although Chattanooga is mostly D, Hamilton County is solid R. We have a little better control over the election process in Tennessee than in most states.
When I voted early, I had to show my state-issued ID (driver’s license), recite my address without looking at the ID, and sign the form to get my ballot. ID is required.
Hopefully, Trump has Hamilton County won easily.
Should we hunker down and mutter only prayers with virtually no sacrificial action to Fight, shame on us.
