Are Fake Polls a Way of Pushing Libertarians to Vote For Their Candidate?
Vanity

Posted on 10/28/2020 10:59:45 AM PDT by willk

If Libertarians feel that the election is close they will probably vote for Trump. If they think Biden has it "in the bag" then they will vote for Jorgensen. Is this another reason for the Fake Media and Fake Polls showing ridiculous Biden leads?

there’s no evidence that is correct, nor does that “reasoning” even particularly make any sense ...

I believe fake polls are a way to deceive the American electorate into thinking that POTUS has no chance of being re-elected.

This is intended to make people feel that they are supporting a WINNER in Joe Biden, to stifle borderline Trump supporters from voting (because, why bother?), and to provide cover to the MSM/themselves, since there is SO MUCH dishonesty.

I don’t think it is for the sole purpose of influencing libertarians or undecideds. JMHO

If you know anything about Libertarians you know they have recruited from Democrats and Republicans.   I believe any libertarians with a populist or nationalist bent have long since jumped on the Trump bandwagon.   The only Libertarians left in their party are progressives or moderates hince the Jo Jorgensen nomination as their candidate.   The only votes she will pull will be away from Joe Biden. Remember also, Libertarians by nature are anti-Socialist, anti-Statist.

These fake polls are being used to demoralize me and like minded people. Also, included in their dishonesty is making the other side feel they are the winners.

A third reason may be the lib/commie media are creating their own confirmation bias. The lib/commie media have lied so often they may have lost contact with reality. That is a problem with people or institutions that lie constantly.

If you add up the Trump votes with the Jorgensen votes and give that total to Trump, Trump is crushing Biden.

Can anybody tell me Jo's position on a carbon tax? The number one reason this libertarian voted for Trump in 2016 instead of Johnson was because Johnson was for a carbon tax!! I mean, really? How is creating a whole new arm of government to tax us for government's imagined metric of a person's carbon footprint in any way a libertarian position? Not even big government Trump was for a carbon tax.

Yes, they certainly can demoralize our side, especially those of us who WANT others to be HONEST, to the point of giving the benefit of the doubt, too often.

But the 2016 election, if we learned ANYTHING from it, should have taught us that the MSM in particular, will not be honest, and they will do whatever is in their power to take down POTUS.

That could be something.

There is a Super PAC running ads heavily for a “Conservative Libertarian candidate 100% Pro-Gun, Pro-Life”, etc. for the US Senate in Kentucky. No doubt funded by Democrats who know Amy McGrath cannot possibly defeat Mitch McConnell on her own so they are trying to split the conservative vote away from McConnell as a strategy. When the ads mention an opponent they only attack McConnell and not McGrath.

Jorgensen opposes a "carbon tax," per a statement to Britannica procon.org. https://2020election.procon.org/view.answers.election.php?questionID=002249.

From everything I've heard so far, she's a pretty orthodox big-L Libertarian. One difference is in defense: Where that many Libertarians espouse a sort of pacifist isolationism and seek to dismantle the military, Jorgensen says she favors armed neutrality with a strong military. Make American a "giant Switzerland" is how she puts it. It's probably more rhetoric than a substantive policy difference, but it has a ring to it and Trump should consider borrowing some of it.

I think that may be part of it. I think there’s some polling evidence to back up the idea that potential Jorgensen voters are much more likely to vote for Trump than Biden if they have to vote for one of them.

I think one reason for fake polls and other journalistic verbiage is to make us think the election is close which makes us lap up their play by play.

They are also trying to get Trump to focus on states he already has, instead of the states that need work.

Why not?

People often decide to vote 3rd party if they dislike both candidates and think their individual vote does not matter.

A lot of freepers can’t make a decent argument for their position so they pretend they can read other freepers’ minds.
