I just tried to hold my wife’s hand like that...VERY awkward!!!! Very unnatural!!!!!
I’m have MS, can still walk short distances (sort of) but if I’m not using a walking support, I use the forearm of someone else for support. Normally she’d have her arm bent and he’d be holding onto her forearm, but this is less conspicuous, but more dangerous should he fall (for both him and her.)
More worrisome is that she has an extra arm.

I remember an exchange between Carson and Ed McMahn.
Ed told John that he had an accident over the weekend. He was coming off the freeway, coming around an exit ramp, and hit a power pole. Carson asked if it was serious. McMahn said it would have been much worse but he was on foot.
