My cousin who is a head nurse at a local hospital in Chicago suburbs gave me this info on covid. These are the text messages from her. Take her information as you wish.

From what I've seen, there are very high false positive And negative rates. Also, if you test positive, then test again 3 days later and are all positive, that counts as 2 positives. What we can't dispute are the number of actual hospitalizations, which are definitely up in my area, but I'm very specious of anyone who has zero symptoms but comes up positive. The good news is that critically ill cases (needing ventilators) appear to be going down as we've learned so much about treatment. Those with comorbidities such as diabetes, copd, obesity are highest fatality risks, however fatalities are a pretty slim percentage. To compare it, I think there were like 7 gun violence deaths in Chicago alone compared to the 15 Covid deaths in the entire state of Illinois. No death count is ideal, but compared to other pandemics and causes of death, death from Covid seems to be pretty low comparatively.

Unfortunately I don't see the connection with shut downs and how it helps support the hospitals. I do with mandating masks, hand hygiene and social distancing. If restaurants and bars can manage these guidelines with limited capacities, I'm not sure I understand the shut downs.

She sounds very knowledgable and reasonable.

I’m hearing in PA. about a very large number of false positives. These folks must quarantine for fourteen days, and never develop symptoms.

That’s a lot of lost wages.

Not to mention that quarantine takes them past election day if they did not vote early.

Pcr tests are designed to have the error rates to the false positive side of the equation. The reason is from a epidemiological Point of view it is better to have people identified and quarantined as positive to an outbreak which then can be retested repeatedly and let out of quarantine if truly false. Than to have a false negative and that person not be quarantined and be spreading the contagion. This is common and solid epidemiological practice. Nearly EVERY pcr test is designed exactly this way. False positives are the desired outcome vs false negatives better to inconvenience someone for a few days while the sample is retested then to let them spread the pathogen as a false negative. Anyone who studies science should know this already.

I’ve been a nurse for 23 years and my spouse is a physician.

I agree with this. 100% my experience too: diabetics are the ones dying, deaths are rare, false positive rate is high, and tests are being counted more than once despite originating from one patient.

Yep.

Why shutdowns?

Our governor, Cooper, NC, has as one of his top advisors a
Chinese who is an official of the Chinese government....in short, a Chinese spy.

Aren’t we lucky to have such a good advisor?

We know a guy who is a COVID Nurse in an assisted living home on the south side of Chicago. He’s been doing this work for over 4 months. He states unequivocally that this entire thing is bullcrap.

It’s time for normal Illinoisans to revolt.

My daughter is an NP in family practice. CoVid can be very nasty for some people. Those who develop the lung problems end up with extreme problems....ground glass is they way they refer to it. The X-rays show massive damage.

For most people they will do fine. It will be like a cold or flu. They recover no problem. Co morbidities particularly those associated with obesity seem to be involved in the worst cases

In Georgia hospitalizations are down deaths are down

My brother in law with epilepsy had covid with pneumonia, typical ground glass type. He never coughed. He never needed oxygen. He never ran a fever. He was dizzy which could have been from his epilepsy medicine being out of balance. He stayed in the hospital for one week. His doctors truly thought he would have significant problems.

> death from Covid seems to be pretty low <

Is that because of all the shutdowns? Or is it because most people are taking precautions (masks, etc). Or is it because the virus actually isn’t that big a deal?

I’m normally not hesitant to take wild guesses on this forum. But in this matter there is too much conflicting info out there. So I must admit I don’t have a clue as to what the truth really is.

100% CORRECT.

IF “Crazy Joe” should win in a week (SHUDDER!!), we won’t even hear any more “SCARE STORIES” from the so-called “Mainstream Media”.

Should that HORROR STORY of a Biden/Harris WIN happen & it is the end of the “COVID-19 PANIC”, everyone who has a brain will KNOW that they were LIED TO & PLAYED for CHUMPS by KNOWING LIARS.
BUT it will then be TOO LATE for Biden voters to be sorry for their UTTER FOOLISHNESS.

Yours, TMN78247

Are they telling these people that quarantining means that they can't go out and vote!?

Are all these people not going to vote?
