These young Black girls should have been celebrating the first Black woman on the Supreme Court.
Instead, as the confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett was well on its way, these girls all 100 of them got dressed up in judicial robes to launch a protest.
Honor Her Wish, their little masks read.
Her wish, of course, was Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburgs dying request that her seat wouldnt be filled until after the election. Joe Biden has pledged to put a Black woman on the Supreme Court if he wins in November.
But President Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnells hypocritical move to fill Ginsburgs seat a mere eight days before the election means the 100 Black girls who have never seen a Black woman on the court will see instead a woman who looks nothing like them helping to decide huge issues in their futures.

What would be the expected benefit?
Stupid bigots, every thing by skin color or sex, IQ one step above moron.
A simple WTH does color and gender hsve to do with qualification? STOP LABELING PEOPLE AND DIVIDING THE US!.
FFS, can we go ten seconds without propping up some kind of black litmus test?
Let me posit this: If there were a highly qualified black female jurist, dont you think they would have been front and center? Could it possibly mean there never will be? Of course not. But do we want the best qualified, or the best qualified of a class?
Well take the most qualified nominee, not a person of any specific race.
She certainly changed direction and became a conservative, however, Candace Owens is not qualified for that position. I’d rather see her get into politics (run for office) and see how it goes from there.
Black woman, woman of color, etc. etc. now nothing more than political currency.
What kind of blatantly racist question is that?!??
That’s Gene Hackman! Just like he looked in Birdcage
The Senate did honor her wish.. that the sitting President fulfill his duty to appoint SCOTUS justices.
I want to know who orchestrated this. Clearly someone organized the whole thing- the black robes, the lace collars, the printed masks. The Dems never do anything organically. Everything is carefully planned and executed for maximum effect. If it weren’t for this WP article, no one would have known about it after all that effort!
“These young Black girls should have been celebrating the first Black woman on the Supreme Court.”
Why should it be an issue. Why can’t these 100 women, who the author sees as a race rather than a citizen, not be pleased that someone as intelligent and proficient in her field has decided to join the court to continue it’s success? Why does it make any difference what the gender is and what color the new judge is? The new judge makes decisions based upon Constitutional law. The law is already there. Congress make that. The judge doesn’t change it or make decisions that are not consistent with it. That falls under people like Ginsburg whose efforts for women were outlandishly her agenda as a person not as a judge.
This is another sky is falling moron that uses race or color to sell her articles so she can seem imporant or keep a roof over her head. Used to call these people con artists.

I can’t find a “last wish” clause in my copy of the Constitution.
Good Gawd what is that?!
These two girls are concerned about a Supreme Court appointment?! GMAFB.
And why should the appointee be a black woman? If we’re going strictly that the replacement is a one-for-one, she should be Jewish.
My thought exactly.
America already has a black man on the Court who just happens to be one of the best judges EVER. Why not be happy with that?
She and Miguel Estrada....
