I am in the market for a new mattress, our memory foam mattress has given out, and I've ended up sleeping in a 'trench' for the past few months and it's time to replace it with a new one.
At 5'10" and about 185, I'm not a monster who has smashed the bed.
I'm certainly open to another memory foam type, it was very good when it was newer, but I'd like to hear from others.
What are you using, how satisfied are you with your choice, and how long have you had it?
Thanks to everyone who takes time to respond.
Was her name Kamala?
LOL!! Maybe ... working her way up ...
The purple is floppy So it works. Neither of us ever put our side more than 45 degrees. My side is up about 8 inches at the top edge and my wife is up about 3 inches at the top edge.
The other benefit with the split is two head massage motors and two foot massage motors all 4 independently controlled.
Using the massage you can train yourself to fall asleep in minutes even if you get woken up in the middle of the night.
I bought a real cheap mattress once and I really got screwed on it
I like my leesa as well. Looked at purple as well when i got this one.
Not sure which brand but we got one a while back with the high density memory foam at the very top of their padding. It about one inch thick in side the mattress. That works great. I realized the memory foam works great “with” a regular mattress. mattress also last a lot longer
Haha. I am female so does not compute...
BTTT
Local company makes good heavy duty innerspring and I top it with a latex 3 inch topper. Allergy free and made in CT. Most comfortable and durable bed. Flip mattress2 x per year
Northwest bedding out of Spokane but the company went out of business....our mattress must be 20yrs old but its still great....when we travel and stay in fancy hotels I still can’t sleep well until I’m home...
actually I think our mattress is 30 yrs old....we do rotate it frequently.....
Chocolate Labrador....

BB = Bridget Bardot...or it could be Brooklyn Bedding (based in Arizona)
Good people and GREAT products!
I’ll be the odd person out, but hubby and I absolutely HATED the Sleep-Number bed. It was an earlier model and didn’t have all the frills but it was awful. It felt like we were sleeping on two pool rafts, and if you tried to “cuddle”, someone ended up on a down-slope in the pit. Could be because we had widely different settings for our comfort levels.
We even put on a pillow-top. but it was still awful - tried to return it, but it had to be put back in the original boxes (which we did not keep). We dragged everything out to the curb and bought a hybrid from the local furniture store, which has been just fine.
I second the suggestion of a heated mattress pad if you’re in a cold area or keep the heat low overnight. I turn it on just enough to stave off the chill when settling in ... and it’s heavenly when you have to make a potty stop and get back into bed.
50/50 chance lol. I suppose I could make a joke about mattress firmness but will not ;)
Let us know how it works out. There appears to be many here like our home who dont know what to do. I am very afraid to spend mega $ on a bad mattress.
I sure will update this thread once we make a decision, and then again after we have slept on the mattress a bit.
Like you, we don’t want to spend a bunch of money on something we don’t like.
I prefer plywood, actually. I have a 1 1/2 inch thick self inflating camp mattress on it. years ago i got so I could not sleep on a normal mattress or even a “superfirm” one. With the rig I put together, no more backache or morning headache.
