Early adoption in law. Daylight Saving Time has been used in the U.S. and in many European countries since World War I. At that time, in an effort to conserve fuel needed to produce electric power, Germany and Austria took time by the forelock, and began saving daylight at 11:00 p.m. on April 30, 1916, by advancing the hands of the clock one hour until the following October.

Only government can cut a foot off the top of a blanket then sew it onto the bottom and convince you you now have a longer blanket. - American Indian saying (or so I’ve heard)..

I like the dark early mornings.
Back in June/July or so the sun was coming up at 4:30 am.

Even farmers do not need it any more.

I remember during the energy crisis we gad year around DST for a few years. Seemed to work just fine.

Let’s just get rid of it. It may be the VERY LAST truly bipartisan issue in our country’s history.

"Hey Hans, I've got a great idea! Let's move the clocks an hour twice a year, then the enemy won't know what time our attacks will really happen!" And another social welfare moment is born!

Good. Keep it on Standard (real) Time.

If you want to play golf before sunset, get up earlier.

Trump should end it!!!!

He actually wants to go on permeant DST. That isn't ending it - it is perpetuating DST.

Some states and cities won't bite. Arizona for one.

Just go to Standard (real) Time forever. That will end it.

When Congress extended DST a few years ago, the idiots went on television and actually said this:

"We are giving the American people more sun!"

No, the gave us nothing, and they are not God.

Lots of laws and changes listed in the article, Here’s one:

Efforts at standardization were encouraged by a transportation industry organization, the Committee for Time Uniformity. They surveyed the entire nation, through questioning telephone operators as to local time observances, and found the situation was quite confusing. Next, the Committee’s goal was a strong supportive story on the front page of the New York Times. Having rallied the general public’s support, the Time Uniformity Committee’s goal was accomplished, but only after discovering and disclosing that on the 35-mile stretch of highway (Route 2) between Moundsville, W.V., and Steubenville, Ohio, every bus driver and his passengers had to endure seven time changes!

Another thought, Time change is happening ONLY 48 HOURS before ELECTION DAY!!! How many petitions for extended polling hours will that cause or support? Remember the maxim, the Judge is usually a stooge!

I suspect that he wants to end ‘changing’ the clocks every six months and is advocating Standard Time
