There are increased COVID-19 in healthcare workers in Illinois, who are passing it on to the residents. They have to be tested on a regular basis.
Seems suspicious to have “hotspots” pop up, especially in conservative rural counties.

My scenarios: 342-383 (edited from 386 post facto to reflect a typo-error in final map- DE no shot- a fat finger moment) electoral college votes: all the conventional swing states (NH PA MI WI NV AZ) will go red.
Some of the states purported to be swing states are not even in play this cycle in my view as they are so firmly in the “stop burning down the cities” camp (FL OH GA NC) that they will be defended easily.
States that should not have been in play as they have been consistently dem the last 30-40 years are slam dunk GOP red now (MN NM) and bc of how coercive and disgusting the political/academic/media left has behaved even some states no one is talking about are in play (VA OR CT NJ).
My one crap shoot state is CO- although I think it will follow through red in the pending landslide especially with a 45pc+ national Hispanic electorate voting for DJT (28pc in 2016)- but it is in the grand scheme moving from purple to blue (“the Colorado blueprint” worked- hats off to the Dems on that one).
The popular vote will be a blowout- 10pc+ win for our presidential incumbent with CA IL NY MA MD WA coming in closer in the R/D divide than any other time since the Reagan’84 blowout, with major impact from a sea change positive delta in the black vote going from ~8pc in 2016 to over 20pc or even 25pc this cycle.
The attempted steal via mass Covid induced ballot distribution (mass unsolicited ballots distributed by mail in multiple states including NV NJ with lots of dead voters getting to cast a vote this cycle- think Joe Kennedy Chicago style) in Dem states (governor, state supreme court, sec’y of state that validates the vote and voter rolls) will create some chaos (states such as PA MI MN WI NV NM CO OR VA NJ CT) but the margins should be so healthy in many of them (especially rust belt PA MI WI) that the math won’t work for the magnitude of attempted steal to be effective. (Though NJ CT OR VA CO NM and maybe NV MN will be ripe for their attempts and they may get away with some of these attempts.)
Ultimately, as it always does, it will come down to turnout. And as such, given the enthusiasm gap, it will be a landslide of almost Reagan’84 proportions. Especially if it was tabulated unmolested by leftist dem chicanery, but even with such bad behavior, we the people (those folks who actually believe in America and don’t want to burn it to the ground) will be just fine and a second term this way comes, with an overwhelmingly expanded mandate. Leftist (truly deplorable human beings) heads will explode and that will make 2020 a great year despite what they (the dastardly left) have attempted to do to our republic this year.
P.S. And we will get back the House easily (almost every seat held by a blue wave 2018 freshman dem that voted for impeachment) and expand in the Senate by a couple of seats- picking up MI AL definitively and possibly MN while defending IA NC AZ ME easily and only likely failing to defend in CO (this state is almost full blue, the incumbent- Gardner- is spectacularly weak, and he is up against a former governor- Hickenlooper- with high name recognition even if he is not all that well liked due to his environmental policy flip flopping).
N.b In 2016 I made a call for 311 electorals and that night it was 306 (and ultimately 304 due to two faithless electors). I thought MN was going to go the way of WI MI PA OH and it was lost by less than a point. And I thought PA would stay blue given the famous Philly voter fraud machine in place. But for the most part my map was accurate. My conviction this cycle is even higher. Have y’all seen American society circa 2020?;)
N.b.2: Gary Johnson got almost 4.5mm votes nationally in 2016 (3.3% of total popular vote) where do you think those votes are going this time? And in NM he received 9pc (former Republican governor of the state) to HRC 48pc and DJT 40pc. Hispanic vote for Trump will be absolutely be higher this cycle bc of jobs/wages/border (a big issue for legal voters in NM). How do you think this will shake out? Seems pretty conclusive to me;)
N.b.3: Cuz I am getting asked a lot about OR- my thoughts: It’s hardly a done deal, I am just saying it’s in play and with strong turnout there is a solid chance for it to flip given unique 2020 dynamics. In 2016 it went 50pc HRC, 39pc DJT, and 5pc Gary “Aleppo” Johnson. And turnout was robust with big dem/lefty enthusiasm for Lady Macbeth (first woman president, identity politics, blah blah blah). But in 2020 the hard left Dems of Portland/Salem/Eugene have no affinity for Biden who they rightly deem a corrupt corporatist shill (recall the MBNA Senator from DE). These are Sanders/Warren people (with some dingbats being Marianne Williamson fans bc dingbats are attracted to other dingbats like a moth to a flame). But now, given what they saw this year in Portland, many moderate center lefties will secretly pull the lever for trump (he needs to overcome 6pc spread from 2016 but with a strong turnout tailwind) bc many normal people saw what true civil anarchy and unrest looks like and they were not pleased (I am guessing more than half Oregonians wanted to see the National Guard called in even a plurality in Portland proper bc this crap was literally on their doorstep). As someone below said- they will only change their internal constitution on these political issues when it directly affects them and comes to their door step. Well it did in 2020- bricks were put through windows, their kids were beat up for wrong think and not being vociferous enough an “ally,” and their businesses were burned down. People are largely rational when their choice to make has direct tangible impact on the two dominant issues in their day to day lives: their finances and their security. And the two are linked politically. Even some Oregonians are rational, and we only need 6pc of them to become more so to flip the state (ex the turnout tailwind). So keep an eye on OR. It’s in play.

I’ve been hearing direct reports from Peru that it has been spreading like wildfire through the country including the cities. Friend lost both her grandparents within a week. Another friend told me hundreds died in villages he was in contact with but it has burned through now and they are safe. But broke.

I live in what was one time, the most conservative large county in America. Now, not even close...they went for Hillary\Obama\Obama\Kerry in the last 4. Repubs used to run unopposed...not no more.
I was in an emergency room room for 6 hours 23:00 to 5 the next a.m. before being admitted. The emergency area was pretty much empty.
They gave me a COVID test...If I was positive, I would go to some isolation ward, if not, I would go to the cardiac section.
They gave me the test, then they made my wife leave the room, go out to the car (freezing out) , and wait to hear from them.
She gets a call, comes back to the room, a nurse comes back in with a swab to retest me...they lost my 1st test swab. I’m the only freaking one there...
It was ok for my wife to stay in the room this time.

I was taught to play spoons as a teenager and played sometimes while older sis and friends played country/mountain music. (Fiddle, guitar, mandolin etc). Had fun. Need the right spoons or it can hurt!
