Arctic outbreak poised to demolish records, usher in snow unusually far to the south

An Arctic outbreak even more extreme than one felt in early September is expected to race southeastward from the northern Rockies Friday night to the southern Plains by next Monday that could deliver temperature departures from average of 30-40 degrees Fahrenheit.

The air is forecast to be so cold at its peak as to bring nighttime low temperatures to within a few degrees of zero in parts of Idaho, much of Montana and Wyoming, as well as the western parts of the Dakotas and northern Colorado.

For example, "in Billings, Montana, the temperature is forecast to shatter the current record of 18 set in 1997 Saturday night by at least 14 degrees and to blow away the record low of 22 set in 2002 on Sunday night by 22 degrees," according to AccuWeather Meteorologist Reneé Duff.

Record-challenging cold will be felt as far south as New Mexico, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas by early next week, where temperatures are forecast to dip into the teens and 20s at night.

Heavy snow, on the order of a foot or so, is most likely over the north- and east-facing ridges and peaks from Washington on Friday to northern Idaho and Montana on Saturday, Colorado on Sunday and northern New Mexico on Monday as the cold air pours in.

Down here in Houston, we are still waiting for some cool weather. Every time a cold front is predicted, it craps out. Supposedly next week is the week.

Nothing good ever comes from Canada
Maybe O'Keefe's Extra Old Stout and some excellent pork products.

“Well, I guess I’ll have to put on socks.....................I live in Florida..................”

You’d better buy a snow shovel from Lowe’s before they sell out.

We should hit 32 Fahrenheit in northern Idaho tomorrow. That’s the high. The low will be 14. The record for that date is 20. I saw my neighbor siphoning gasoline from his lawn mower into his snow blower yesterday.

Climate alarmists have a completely bastardized definition of Average Temperature, which is unique only to them, or really low IQ individuals. They see it as a normal temperature, and any deviation up or down, from the average, is something to be concerned about, or somehow it’s proof of climate change.

I’ve been seeing all of these Christmas items in stores since August, so a little winter weather will get people in the holiday mood.

26F here in north Idaho panhandle. Snow’s just beginning to come in. Looks like single digit lows over the weekend. Just went out to power up the timers for the well house heat lamp heating array. Got 3 honest cords of wood coming in Saturday, courtesy of the neighbor two places down from ours.

Lived in E Iowa most of my life. Not north near MN or south near MO. Kind of in the middle.

For 50 years I don’t EVER remember snow in October. Some Novembers it was very late before the first snow.

Then, about 12 years ago we had snow on Halloween or possibly the 30th.

This year we’ve already had one snow fall and another predicted for Monday 26th.

Global warming is a lie.
