Ratings for Game 1 of the World Series Crash 25%, Viewership at All-Time Low
Breitbart ^ | October 21, 2020 | Dylan Gwinn

Game 1 of Major League Baseball’s “Fall Classic” turned out to be a ratings classic, in that it was classically awful.

Viewership for the game came in at 9.2 million. Big numbers if you’re the NBA who didn’t reach that mark in any of their Finals games. However, for MLB, it was the lowest number of viewers in recorded history. The pathetically small viewing audience resulted in a 25% drop from Game 1 of the 2019 World Series.

Did MLB also go all-in on “social justice” and BLM? Is this the “NBA effect?”

I have no idea - because I have literally have not watched even 1 pitch.

NO ONE CARES.

Methinks this is good news for the election.

Folks are worried that this country is about to go down the tubes and are not worried what overpaid Prima Donna’s are doing on the court, baseball field, or football field.

In a bubble. In Dallas. No fans in stadium. Teams are LA Dodgers and Tampa so local fans wouldn't give a rip in any case.

Well, part of it could be that Tampa Bay is in the World Series. Some more casual baseball fans don’t even know that the Tampa Bay area has a major league franchise. And couldn’t name a single player on the Rays team.

It’s somewhat of a truism, that the Yankees in the World Series have tended to draw higher ratings, than a Series with less well known teams.

Though I cannot recall the specific names of the players, there were/are several who took the knee.

At the beginning it looked like the franchise owners would be strong enough to keep control. Unfortunately, they were not.

It’s about time those folks reaped what they allow to be sowed.

In addition to the boycott, perhaps people have discovered that there are more rewarding things to do with their time and money.

No fans in stadium.

There are about 11,000 fans and family in the stadium.

Go Buckeyes!

I actually had a dream where I was talking to the top execs of the NBA, MLB, NFL and the hockey league.

I told the first three that they were killing the golden goose with their BLM nonsense. They seemed to get it. I said to the hockey guy, “I think you’re okay so far, but be careful.”

The people from soccer and golf were there too but I said, golf, you’re good, but you, soccer, sorry but no one cares about you.

I’m not even that interested in sports! LOL!

The advertisers must be giving the network grief over this. I couldn't care to watch but couldn't miss how many highlights and commentaries the network was adding into the news segment.

The advertisers who stayed with the networks that started spewing their Communist hatred of America deserve to lose money as well.

It’s hard to watch 2 teams that you don’t know. During the 162-game season you get to see these teams usually play your favorite team, so you become familiar with the players.

With the delayed/shortened season, I forgot about baseball. And when my team fell 5 games behind, I knew with the short season we had no chance to make the playoffs, so I quit watching.

No fans in stadium.

Yes, for the league championships and the world series, they are allowing fans. Just the earlier rounds of playoffs were fanless.

The World Series is on?????

Back in the day, boys in school would sneak in a transistor radio to listen and keep up.

Grandpa would listen, and keep a score sheet.

Now the fans are literally cardboard cutouts, with thin corrugated brains.
