I don't think so...that's one of the COVID 'silver linings'...it cured the flu (and lots of other illnesses.)

Not true at all. 2019-2020 was on the worse than average side of flu seasons. Preliminary data has us at 24,000-62,000 deaths. Average is about 36,000 deaths each year. More here: https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/preliminary-in-season-estimates.htm

Early on, there wasn’t much testing for COVID-19 and not much was known about it. A lot of early COVID-19 deaths got lumped into other categories like dementia. You can see it in the excess mortality stats. Dementia deaths spiked way beyond normal in March when COVID-19 was first hitting and Cuomo was stuffing infected people into nursing homes. It’s likely some COVID-19 deaths also got called flu deaths early on, since it’s a respiratory illness hitting older folks.
