Its just the flu, bro.
A Flubro posted a link yesterday to a Dr. Scott Atlas interview. This guy is great - a true Flubro. No wonder Trump made him an advisor.
-
Other than church I have a new policy: Dont wear a mask anywhere until someone asks me to put one on. Signage saying to wear a mask doesnt cut it. This is draining on people - to provide correction to people about masks wears people down. If the mask enforcers get worn down the whole thing falls apart.
-
People need to realize that single issue scientists (eg Fauci) cant make correct policy decisions unless they broaden their analysis to include morality and economics. Economics is the study of decision making as it relates to scarce resources. Without an economic analysis and a morality analysis, every public policy pronouncement made by a scientist is a pile of crap.

19 Oct: Just The News: Bill Gates: ‘Shutting down’ economy ‘nowhere near sufficient’ to stop climate change
The Microsoft founder also described climate change as “even scarier” than the COVID-19 pandemic.
By Nicholas Ballasy
“Simply shutting down is not going to get to our goal, so just as we need breakthrough innovation for COVID-19, we also need that to get rid of emissions from all the different sectors and bring down climate change,” Gates said during the annual meeting for the National Academy of Medicine. “This crosses many areas how we make electricity, how we make industrial products, grow food, cool our buildings and all of transportation.”...
“The change in behavior, like driving less or flying less is helpful but nowhere near sufficient 2020 is a great example of this,” he said. “We’ve cut down carbon emissions ... but the reduction in emissions is actually quite modest. When COVID-19 hit, air travel effectively stopped. Car travel last April was half what it was the year before, and even so the international energy agency estimates that the global emissions only dropped about 8% this year.”...
Characterizing climate change as “even scarier” than the COVID-19 pandemic, Gates predicted that climate change could result in 3 times more deaths than coronavirus.
“As bad as COVID-19 has been, the damage of climate change will be even worse, and there won’t be just an intervention like a vaccine to bring it to an end,” he said...
“COVID has been incredibly devastating,” he said. “We can’t even measure all the negative effects. Climate is the same. It’s even scarier.”

19 Oct: European Commission: Speech by President von der Leyen at the annual meeting of the U.S. National Academy of Medicine
President Dzau, dear Victor, (Chinese-American doctor and academic; President of the United States National Academy of Medicine of the United States National Academy of Sciences; previously the president and CEO of Duke University Medical Center)
Distinguished Members of the National Academy of Medicine,
Ladies and Gentlemen...
For fifty years, the National Academy of Medicine has been the voice of objective and trusted advice...
From economists to epidemiologists, CEOs to neurosurgeons, and even Nobel Prize winners to Presidential candidates...
Every day we see the tragic consequences that come with extreme weather - such as the floods and landslides that recently hit southern France and northern Italy.
Or the wildfires that have ravaged through more than 4 million acres in California.
We have experienced forest fires, floods and droughts before, but not with this intensity and frequency.
And we have increasingly become aware about the links between rising temperatures, biodiversity destruction and infectious diseases...
The first is the need for international leadership and cooperation.
Global crises need global solutions.
And health and climate change are two areas where Europe is willing and able to lead...
When I came into office, one of the first things I did, was launch the European Green Deal.
The headline goal is to become the first climate neutral continent by 2050...
Europe is also ready to lead efforts to reform and strengthen the WHO.
And I hope we can work on this with the next US administration - whatever the result of the election...
Like many of you, I am concerned about the erosion in trust in science in some quarters.
We saw the same pattern with climate sceptics as we now see with those spreading disinformation about vaccines, treatments or data.
But science is also making a popular comeback...

It’s so comforting to know that there’s always a flupimp somewhere in the world!
You really do serve a purpose.
Unlike your sociopathic, self-admitted willingness to always lie in certain circumstances, at least here you’re always telling the truth. Right, little buddy?

Billy Boy obviously never took Geology or Earth Science in high school or junior high. “Climate Change” HAPPENS during the 4.5 billion year lifespan of a planet.
Scuttlebutt is that Billy Boy also never learned the importance of regular bathing either. His B.O. was said to be legendary.
I like Dr. Atlas a lot. He’s SANE, for one thing. :-)
It angers me that some on the Net turn up their noses and say things like “Well! He’s a RADIOLOGIST, so OBVIOUSLY he can’t possibly know anything about COOOOOOOVID!” Well guess what, kiddies? A doctor is a doctor. Radiology is a specialty. A doctor completes medical school BEFORE going into the selected specialty. Being a radiologist does not preclude a doctor from having knowledge on any subject he chooses to learn about. I believe this applies with Dr. Atlas.
Where’s Fauci and Birx?
FULL DISCLOSURE: I am personally NOT a Catholic, BUT I do NOT believe in throwing out the baby with the bath water...there is some interesting food for thought contained in her rant...still worth considering, IMO.
That’s been my MO as well.
Regardless of any signs, I only put a mask on if someone asks me to, then I decide if it’s worth it, and either leave or put a bandanna around my face.
I refuse to buy a stupid mask.
I’m almost never asked.

“No wonder Trump made him (Atlas) an advisor.”
Kinda makes you wonder why Pence chose Fauci. (I’ll say no more.)
“Other than church ... Dont wear a mask.”
Our church’s default mode is “no mask”. It’s not written or anything, but almost nobody does. Pastor does say something like, “For those of you who feel more comfortable wearing a mask, we eagerly welcome you to our services.”
Signage?
I suffer from SOSI--Sudden Onset Selective Illiteracy.
Well...my 94 yr old MIL became a covid statistic last Wednesday. ..she had had congestive heart issues over past months . Her Asst Living place (residents/staff) we’re all tested 2 weeks prior with no positives...then she got ill and they tested again...no positives...now THIS week there are two positives. She got a few days of the steroid, and two doses of Resmevidir after being sent to “covid” hospital. She ended up with ARDS. YES, she was a vulnerable one...and I believe would have been taken with the flu or a bad cold.
How can this be, with all the mask mandates in place? Are MORE lockdowns ahead???
“Are MORE lockdowns ahead???”
I think so. It was being discussed on FBN this morning, I think. Or maybe last night. Boy, was Steve Forbes PISSED! But many think we’ll see bigger lockdowns soon.
