The unhappiest place on earth? Disney attacks California Gov. Newsom's 'arbitrary' COVID guidelines that will keep Disneyland 'shuttered for the foreseeable future' after state announced further delays to reopening large theme parks

Disney has attacked California Governor Newsom for his 'arbitrary' COVID guidelines that will keep Disneyland 'shuttered for the foreseeable future', after the state announced further delays to reopening large theme parks Tuesday.

Disneyland Resort's President Ken Potrock blasted state officials in a statement Tuesday saying the reopening guidelines are 'unworkable' and will force 'thousands more people out of work'.

The outrage came after the state released protocols for reopening California theme parks Tuesday, revealing it will still be several weeks before Disneyland in Anaheim, California, can start welcoming guests back to the so-called 'Happiest Place on Earth'.

Tensions have been building between the amusement park giant and Newsom as the state continued to keep theme parks shuttered.

Disney CEO Bob Iger resigned from Newsom's COVID-19 economic task force earlier this month as the company announced it had to lay off 28,000 employees across its parks, experiences and products division.

Disney is apparently run by Libs and homos. I laugh at their predicament. These people are pathetic. Disney contributes to the degeneration of our civilization and Civil Society. Walt Disney is likely spinning uncontrollably in his grave as he observes the degeneracy and lunacy of those who control the Disney Empire nowadays. How pathetic.

Disney World Oct 27 - Nov 2.
Disneyland Gay Days were scheduled for Oct 2- 4.

I think they re-scheduled to the fall because of WuFlu. Worked out for them for Florida but not California. I guess the California governor is just homophobic.

The entertainment industry, including Disney, want to be governed by Democrats and, to borrow from H.L. Mencken, they deserve to get it good and hard!

Disney helped make CA a One Party State.
Deal with it or admit you lied to the American People to grab power.

I do know several CA dem lib converts who are voting Trump this time. However once they take over government, they control the vote fraud.

I’m in CA. Here’s a post from a Facebook group I’m in you will like, relating to the Disney closure and school closures:

“I love when people blame the “big orange Buffon” but every single state has handled this pandemic however each governor has wanted to! I used to blame the “big orange Buffon” as well, but I opened my eyes! I will vote against this stupid control that has helped NOTHING with the cases! Voting red for the first time ever!”

We ran into a similar situation with a swimming pool: paid the $400 fee for the summer, and then the governor said only 34 people could be in the pool area at one time, all summer. No credit, either.

That's outrageous! We got a refund from our YMCA membership for the months our local Y was forced to shut down because of the COVID lockdown (from mid-March through June 20th).

I was back in the lap pool on June 20th, the day our Y reopened.

This is in The People's Republik of Connecticut. I guess we're not the worst Blue State after all...

Our gym hasn’t been charging members since the shutdown. It was the community pool in a nearby subdivision that was officially open but effectively closed, because you never knew if you could get in.

Well, there’s 6 Flags in San Antonio... so,, maybe...

There is a park in Santa Claus, Indiana — out in farm land — nothing around -— they don’t have problems like this — then again, they are in Indiana...

Since Disneyland pays for nearly half of Anaheim’s tax base, this has to have a serious affect on the city.
Oh well.

Die Disney!
Ah, a German speaker!

Reminds me of Tim Conway's ad lib in a Carol Burnett skit where the prison guard spots something and say "AHA! A key!" and Conway, without batting an eye, says "Oh, so you speak Spanish."

A few years later I worked the night shift at WalMart and when a Hispanic gal asked if I had "a key" for the display cases. Pulled the same gag. Deer in headlinghts, then a belly laugh. High point of that shift.

It’s clear that Newsom truly enjoys doing the terrible things he does to people and businesses. It makes the boy feel tough ... a feeling he’s never had until the Covid Cooties gave him a “good reason” for his tyranny.

I just hope that Disney at least manages to learn its lesson regarding supporting far left causes, or at a bare minimum, the shareholders at Disney make sure to fire both Bob Iger and Bob Chapek and replace them with someone more concerned with profits and keeping Disney’s wholesome image genuine than in trying to push woke points after all this is said and done. I want Disney to suffer enough to get them to change their mind, but I absolutely refuse to allow them to be shut down. It was originally a Conservative company, and I want it to return to being a Conservative company.

And for the record, I’d blame Katzenberg for Disney’s leftward shift over the years far more than I do Eisner (and I certainly blame Iger for the even more radical leftward shift). Eisner, while a leftist, has generally been more of the pragmatic type, avoiding pushing overt leftism due to realizing that would burn a hole in profits (and besides, he liked Jim Cox’s rendition of Beauty and the Beast enough to request a full-on screenplay, only for Katzenberg to nix that for the feminazi mess that we got). Probably the closest he got to trying to force in leftist views during his time there was with THOND and maybe Chicken Little (not to mention Gay Days).

“This is payback for the destruction and desecration of Star Trek, Star Wars and Marvel.”

Correction, Disney had absolutely nothing to do with Star Trek being destroyed/desecrated, as they are still owned by Paramount as well as Viacom/CBS and are not under Disney’s jurisdiction even right now, let alone back when JJ Abrams was running it into the ground (maybe as early as The Next Generation, though that said, apparently Katzenberg had been involved in TNG’s production prior to joining Disney). If you ought to blame anyone, you should blame Warner Bros, which holds a majority shareholder in ViacomCBS via the CW.

Now, that all being said, Disney IS responsible for worsening the destruction and desecration of Marvel and Star Wars, but even there, those two entities were already being destroyed/desecrated by the left long before Disney acquired them (let’s not forget that Captain America, for example, was being used as an anti-war mouthpiece back in 2004, and George Lucas used the Prequel Trilogy and even Return of the Jedi to force in his personal left-wing viewpoints about how the Vietcong were our moral superiors, how capitalism is bad, and basically espousing a huge amount of anti-war crap).
