A pointless excursion. It teaches nothing and is irrelevant for higher math.
“A pointless excursion. It teaches nothing and is irrelevant for higher math.”
I disagree. There needs to be some understanding of shapes to get to geometry. Furthermore, matching words to concepts is essential to understanding higher math. So at 1st grade, it’s a start.
‘each point would be a side’ ... and you have a BS in Math? LOL it takes TWO points to determine a line thus it takes two points to determine the location of a side.
Yeah... no.
That was not what you said at first and no, the basis of leftist philosophy is You will be as gods.
You said there is no right or wrong answers when there are clearly a finite number of right answers and a multitude of wrong ones.
The answer in this case depends on what you are looking for. In other words context which is something liberals have a problem with.
As a first reader he was probably learning about shapes. Triangles have three sides, squares have four and circles have none.

You’re right, I should have been more precise. Each point would cause a tangent line defining a side. Every tangent line/side would be unique to that circle.
Richard Feynman used that ‘principle’ to determine an orbit using only Algebra and trigonometry, ... if I’m remembering it right. An old man gets a pass on memory things, right?
“An old man gets a pass on memory things, right?”
Exactly. Thank you for understanding my studies in this was a half century ago.
LOL, I was referencing my failing memory at 75. It is slowly fading ... very slowly; I can still remember my credit card numbers, and data.
I am laughing because most reading this stuff would think we are Speaking in tongues.
Glad you understood my point tangent.
Well you could start with a triangle, then draw a square, then a pentagon, etc. As you approach an infinite amount of sides, you could find the limit.
Believe that was basically mjp’s point in post 44.
You’re right. Finding the limit would be a bit much for a first grader.
You could also introduce the Mandelbrot set at that point.
Correct. The issue is not the circle. The issue is the revolution.
And yet, there are two sides to every story.
