The Left always says it wants to have an honest conversation about race. Of course, what THEY mean is that they want to yell at white people and insult them.
If we REALLY talked about race and slavery, it would get pretty deep.
Some slaves were afraid to be freed — Massa always fed them and gave them housing. They were valuable property and Massa actually tried to take care of them to some degree. Who would take care of them if they were freed?
Look at the inner city underclass today. They are given food, housing, health care. Massa is still taking care of these people.
Freedom is hard and not everyone wants it. If a political party says it will take care of your every need, some people will find that attractive.

If blacks do not think the are on the leftist plantation still, ask them to wear a MAGA hat and/or a “ALL Lives matter” in ANY democrat city. They will see when it comes to freedom they keep themselves in chains.
I can wear a “joe and the ho” (with their real names) shirt, hat and everything with zero fear of reprisal here in darkest red North Texas. Of course I would have to scrub with lye soap and gasoline until my 2 outer epidermis layers were removed, but I could do it.
Because, unlike them, I am free. Not because of my color but because of my philosophy.
Except they used to have to work while being taken care of. Who are the slaves now?
