Rumours have been circulating for years that the American military killed a creature which was “three times” the size of a normal man.
The beast was supposedly shot dead after taking “multiple hits” in the Kandahar region when troops were looking for a missing patrol.
This outlandish claim, which has been denied by the US administration, has recently resurfaced on social media.

Two self-proclaimed ex-special ops soldiers recalled the encounter with a a supposed mythical monster.
They alleged that the “giant killing” was a common knowledge among fellow troops, but no-one could speak publicly...

Watch it. My MIL’s funeral was preached by a snake handling preacher. You go over a mountain way back in the hills and there is a large new church. No, they don’t handle snakes there

IMHO, They are indeed very real.
Their existence nicely ties together numerous Old Testament and New Testament passages, themes, and doctrine regarding those who attempt to abrogate the Plan of God by substituting a counterfeit for man to assume His blessings.
God is not mocked and knows all from the beginning.
Other buzzwords which tie them together are from extra biblical texts, such as the Book of Enoch and archeological discoveries of Monoliths, Pyramids, human sacrifice, and evil spirits without bodies.

I have no reason to believe the stories about the Red Haired Giant, as I don't know anyone who has seen one, nor have I seen one. Moar proof is needed.
I have read about the giants bones that were discovered and disappeared after the Smithsonian gathered them up. The theory is that it might be used to refute Evolution-so they wanted to hide them. I saw a picture from the newspaper of a fairly young Queen Elizabeth looking at a huge skeleton and other news paper reports.
I also read about some historians who traced a white Indian Tribe back to Wales --the tablets of the Indians were ancient dialect from Wales. Just because giants were here at one time, Doesn't mean they are still alive somewhere and running around. Frankly the issue is not at the top of my concerns right now.
Biophysics wise or scaling law wise I agree with amorphous in general. This is why elephants have thick legs and spiders skinny ones: the weight goes as the cube and the cross sectional area as the square so the weight/cross section, or stress, goes up linearly, given the same proportions.

If you are six feet tall, a boy half your height ( 36 inches tall ) would on average be 2 1/2 years old and weigh 30 pounds. You would have to be unusually heavy, 240 lbs, to be eight times as heavy, so steve86, you make a good point.
A man would have to be an unusually light 120 pound six-footer to be only four times as heavy though.

There is a great video on youtube about the collapse of viking colonization of Greenland speculatively caused by the coming of the little Ice Age and Plague cutting off their re-supply from Norway and Denmark.
There is speculation that as the inhabitants fled Greenland they traveled west instead of returning to Scandinavia. This would explain Viking artifacts found in various North American locations.
Seems like a plausible theory to me.
