“Patriot Rally” and a “BLM-Antifa Soup Drive” took place at Civic Center Saturday afternoon
DENVER — A private security guard is being held as a suspect in a deadly shooting near the Denver Art Museum, according to the Denver Police Department (DPD).
The private security guard in custody was contracted through Pinkerton by 9NEWS. It has been the practice of 9NEWS for a number of months to hire private security to accompany staff at protests.
DPD originally took two people into custody, and later found the second individual, a 9NEWS producer who works in the investigative unit, was not involved in the incident. The producer is no longer in police custody and is not a suspect.
This incident occurred beneath a city police surveillance camera and police confirmed they have footage of what happened. DPD said that a little before 3:50 p.m. there was some sort of verbal altercation just as protesters were leaving the area.

He isn’t dressed like a security guard. The picture shows him being maced from about 10 feet away while he aims the gun at the guy’s face. Shoots the guy in the face. That’s a shot in anger. Not a disinterested security guard. I think the Denver police are lying. So is 9NEWS. Sue the stuffing out of them.

Having mace sprayed at you is not a reason to use deadly force.

I’ve been sprayed in the face with pepper spray before and It was incapacitating. I put my head in a bucket of water and ran a water hose over my face to minimize the burn. About two hours later, I could function again. You might want to rethink that statement.
The Denver Police are lying because the city government leadership is ordering them to...they are afraid of Antifa, they are not afraid of us.
They need to be deathly afraid of us. Then they’ll stop lying.
The guy killed was wearing a BLM tee shirt, Patriot?. They sure took that video down quick.

The dead guy appears to be wearing the same hat (WWI helmet?) as the guy spraying the gunman with mace.
If that is correct, it is quite possible the gunman, a licensed security guard, was justified in defending himself, unless he is not licensed or employer authorized to carry.
I will wait to see the full video before making any conclusions.

The full video has been all over the place since yesterday. The murder victim was not wearing a WWI helmet, he was wearing a boonie hat. He was not wearing a BLM shirt,he was wearing a sarcastic version of one. And no, he did not get himself killed deliberately to support BLM.
It was cold blooded murder. The antifa guy hired as security stalked his victim, started a fight, and when he was shoved back, he drew and aimed. In a last desperate attempt at defense the victim fired the pepper spray as the murderer fired.

Exactly. Security guards are uniformed. To my knowledge, there is no mistaking them.
He's most likely already been bailed out by money put up by LeBron James and other idiots.
Being a security guard and being antifa are not mutually exclusive.
And something Channel 9 Denver is scrambling to hide is that their star reporter is an antifa friend, antifa said “he is one of us”, and an armed antifa guy was hired as “security”.
The gunman advanced into the fight.
I’ve read that under Colorado state law bear spray is by definition explicitly called out as a nonlethal self defense item. Is this not accurate? I know that bears consider the spray more as an inconvenience.
