I like Peter Jackson’s 3 LOTR movies. I had some issues with it. I think he missed the mark in certain areas. But they were pretty good.
I really hated the Hobbit movies. Really, really awful.
Amazon wants nudity? Why? Why do these people always insist on ruining the franchise? Don’t they want to make money? Or do they primarily just want to ruin good stuff?

I believe that there is enough material in the three Hobbit films to have made one really good longish movie. Greed stretched it into an absurd trilogy. The scenes they got right, they really got right. As for this new thing that Amazon is doing, it sounds like it will stray even further from the books. When Game of Thrones started doing that, it went to hell in a hurry. Last Kingdom is well down that road, too.

It’s probably got a lot more to do with GOT made fantastic cash. And honestly we don’t ACTUALLY KNOW what Amazon is doing. We just know that some of the calls said must be comfortable with nudity. And of course in the end, as Zelazny and King have said, the books are there. You can’t actually ruin them with a bad adaption. You can ruin your movie or show, but the books are fine.

Is this what is going on with LOTR? Frankly, I’ve never
understood the Christian connections. Those Christian
connections are obvious in CS Lewis stories. Not that
clear in Tolkien, but I defer to those who say they are
there. But I think Amazon is thinking ... LOTR is a
moneymaker... how can we make people want to pay to see
it again.... Hey lets do a mash up between Game of
Thrones and LOTR! They are doing it for greed and money,
but Satan is doing it for evil.
