An argument over face masks turned physical on an Allegiant Airlines flight from Mesa, Ariz., to Provo, Utah, on Saturday.
A passenger on the flight was wearing a face shield and a flight attendant asked him to wear a face mask as well, KSL TV reported. Allegiants policy is that face shields must be worn in addition to a face covering, not as an alternative.
When the flight attendant and passenger were arguing about the policy, another passenger heckled the man, KSL reported. As the flight attendant was attempting to escort the passenger who refused to wear a face mask off the plane, a fight broke out with the heckling passenger.
Another passenger, Rylie Lansford, recorded the fight and said one of them threw a punch.
Lansford told KSL that she saw one of the passengers swing at the other and the passenger who refused to wear a mask was choking the other. The fight was broken up after 30 seconds, KSL reported.
KSL also reported the passenger who refused to wear a mask was escorted off the plane in Mesa, Ariz., and the other passenger was able to stay for the flight.
Major U.S. airlines have required face masks on planes for months. In September, a woman and her 2-year-old son were removed from a Southwest Airlines flight because the son didnt have on a mask.

I just refuse to fly.
The masks didn’t make them crazy, although they do claim that the masks (among many other false causes) make them crazy. The crazy was already there and increasing slowly for decades.
Anyone for some miracle cure or a conspiracy theory? They’re plentiful and cheap. ;)
Theyre slacking. Everyone knows best practice (I hate that term) is to wear a mask, face shield, and goggles. /s
To be in the audience of television game shows and talk shows they actually tell you which types of clothing and colors and designs that cannot be worn in the audience. Usually because certain patterns mess with the cameras. Polkadot t-shirts, I believe was one of them.
Yes, because that shield thing isn’t effective. As if the virus can’t work its way under and over, lol! But I couldn’t breathe with both of them on. I pulled it off in front of a patient (I’m an interpreter) and told the nurse, I can’t breathe. They can fire me.
So I wear these p RV protective little shields around my glasses instead.
Yup. Again, private accomodation - their house, their rules.
I know of a diner that will NOT let you in if you are wearing formal business clothing. Again, their house, their rules.
Don’t you just *LOVE* your face diaper?
Makes the Karens feel good.
LOL!!
Maybe these airlines should require/provide full PPE.
That would make it safe, for sure.
(eye roll)
Continuing to use anti white slurs might not feel so good.
I buy supplies and inventory for the company where I work in Texas. When people were first starting to return to work, I was asked to order face shields because the order fillers in the warehouse thought it was too hot to wear the masks all day. For a month or so, everybody was wearing face shields. Now, almost no one does (they are now wearing the blue surgical masks). I used to see face shields in grocery stores, but now I seldom see them. I think they have become like the masks that have air vents to allow your breath to escape without fogging up your glasses. It was decided from "on high" that those things do not offer enough protection so they have fallen into disfavor.
We flew from Arizona to Florida to go to Disney World in August. Southwest Air claimed they would only seat passengers in every other seat. They lied. On both flights we were packed like sardines. They also didnt serve any alcohol or meals on a 5-1/2 hour flight. WTF??!?
If the virus is so easy to spread, why does the test to see if you have the virus, require a swab to reach almost to your brain stem to get a decent sample.
It would seem that if the virus was so virulent, you should be able to just breathe on a petri dish and get a result.
Wearing a face shield along with a mask fogs the face shield.
Having “rights” is between you and the government. Once you step on that airplane, you loose your rights. However you do have the right to fly a different airline.
Fistfights breaking out over masks. I miss the days when airlines served actual meals with real silverware and napkins.
“Once you step on that airplane, you loose your rights.”
No, you do not. Only Internet idiots think that.
Does the airline have the right to murder you? Beat you to a pulp? Take your wallet??
Think for once.
What do the folks do that are hearing disabled, don’t know sign language, and must lip-read in order to understand what someone is saying to them?
