He can certainly say so Trump did away with Johnson amendment so pastors are FREE to speak their minds!!
I watched Mass on EWTN.
They prayed for the Pres and Melania and all virus sufferers.
The women’s Bible study is excellent and I’m pretty sure we will pray for the president.
The church merged with another church, and the Bible study is run by older women from the other church. They are wonderful women.
Yes. Also for Amy Barret.
Yep.
Yes, for the President, the First Lady, and others in his administration who have the virus.
“My”
Why?
Mine did.
Yes
Here in the Socialist Oblast of Fairfax at my local UMC, my Associate Pastor put out a request for prayer for the POTUS on Facebook. He was attacked (virtually) for doing this. This morning at our live-stream service, the Senior Pastor reiterated the need to pray for our leaders.
The person doing the pastoral prayer did. If they were not so afraid of offending someone we would have had prayer at the altar for him with someone standing in.
My church of myself and wife did.
After going to church every Sunday for almost my entire life, I have been attending virtually since the pandemic began. I have watched many different congregations. There may be quite a few changes when people get back fully to indoor church services.
” they sang a hymn I hate, ‘I love my country but remember other nations love their country too’ meaning dont be cheering for the US.”
That’s a hymn?
Another church might be in your future.
For our deliverance from all affliction, wrath, danger and distress, and from the peril of the coronavirus against us, let us pray to the Lord.
(Lord, have mercy.)
For our brethren, those who lead the fight against the coronavirus, the doctors, the medical workers and the scientists, let us pray to the Lord.
(Lord, have mercy.)
Help us, save us, have mercy on us, and protect us, O God, by Your grace.
(Lord, have mercy.)
And those modifications are in EVERY Great Ektania; Vespers, Orthros, and Divine Liturgy!
Yes, although according to our confession, we fairly regularly pray for elected leaders of all persuasions
Yes, we never know, Steve. And the Democrats openly embrace every sin there is, but he seems to have more of a problem with DJT.
The church I (occasionally) attend does also. The Bishop makes a effort to be neutral but positive about our President (doensn't bash him). I find that refreshing.
Ours did in the general opening prayers.
Then, in the prayers for the sick, the deacon did pray for president Trump.
