Hopefully you are right. Each agency grew out of a need for federal intervention. Many of those needs no longer are a problem. The agencies are like ticks, burying their heads in the body of the nation sucking up the tax dollars and becoming bloated. They never want to stop feeding eventually becoming a disease in the body. CIA is suppose to be external counter intel, the FBI is internal, the DEA and ATF should be one agency dealing with Drugs, illegal alcohol and firearms. Why does the FBI do weapons background checks when the ATF has responsible for illegal firearms? Is moonshine the problem it was when the ATF was formed? Around here most moonshine busts are run through the Sheriff. But honestly, who cares, the hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost alcohol taxes is peanuts in a multi-trillion dollar deficit. States determine distillery laws, drug laws, firearm laws and taxes let them deal with moonshine and illegal gun sales. More money could be saved getting rid of the Agency. The only agency that I see as still fulfilling its original mandate is the Secret Service.

With the stroke of a pen, the President could (as far as I know), switch any of the FBI’s functions to another federal law enforcement agency. For example, counterintelligence and public corruption could be switched to some combination of the DEA, ATF or Secret Service. It seems to me that shutting down the FBI is unrealistic but changing up roles and missions is not.

Intelligence agencies are a branch of the CCP. No reason to trust a damn thing they do.

There’s nothing but rot in the upper levels. Short of a Stalin-style purge, we really need to do a full shut down and start over.

Watch out Devin.
The FBI & CIA have been known to either frame folks or murder them.

“It’s about a half century beyond time for them to shut down, but I’ll take it now.”

Yes. President Kennedy remarked he wanted to shut them down. (But they got to him first.)

If you recall, I believe during the Carter years, 40 or so years ago, the intel agencies were overhauled. One of the things that made the news was the CIA MKUltra project and related. The CIA director of that era took it upon himself to have all such records destroyed.

But whatever reorganizing was done, was most likely superficial with most illegal projects simply going darker.

I don’t know how your comment fits with the thread topic. But I have nightmares about being captured by an all female platoon of hot Russian army girls with each one of them forcing herself upon me. Oh the dread, pain and agony just thinking of it.

Funny how I thought the same about the military recently when a thread here made it obvious the upper chain cannot be trusted. The only way this could be legal would be during CWII and the President was still alive and in charge of the good guys. Certain rights of the insurgent officers could be curtailed and replaced with summary judgement and immediate carrying out of sentence without appeal.

In general, beautiful women are pertinent to every topic.

In specific, the false accusations made about Trump and Russia start with the presumption that Russia must be viewed as an enemy.

That presumption is false.

“That presumption is false.”

I tend to agree with you. The Soviets were a great enemy that kept the military/industrial complex well oiled and in perfect working order. The passing of that regime left a huge void.

Bush filled that void with our perpetual ME wars. obama with his faithful sidekick Hitlery got the evil Russian hoax stirred up which led to the accusations of their meddling into elections. The problem with the latter, is the dems are the ones doing election tampering.

Rebuilding the agencies would be a great task for Donald Trump s second term. The other would be putting the task before Congress to legislate a replacement for Roe v Wade.
