Video interview of Yale Law Professor of Jurisprudence Samuel Moyn on how the left should think about the Supreme Court and how to disempower it.
Moyn discusses Supreme Court packing and suggests using the threat of packing as a way to coerce SCOTUS rulings. He also posits ways to disempower and control a conservative Supreme Court, such as 'modest packing' and then mandating a SCOTUS supermajority for every ruling. Which Biden could be pushed, and would be expected, to enact under a Biden administration (as part of 'reimagining' government).

How does that work? Supreme Court rulings aren't a pass/no-pass thing, it's an "A or B" thing. Requiring a supermajority to make a ruling, only works if every ruling is a supermajority one way or the other. If one side barely loses, the other side barely wins. So would that count as a draw, with VP Pence picking the winner?

the way he put it, say they add two justices, then they are told that to rule on anything it has to be 10-1. (translated to the real world that would mean nothing would be ruled on - which neuters the court.) And if the supremes ‘rebel’ keep packing it with more members until the dissenting members are outnumbered and shouted down. It sounds wackadoodle crazy, but so is ‘reimagining govt’.
