25,000 population in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. Great hospitals, including a VA hospital.
An hour to San Antonio.
I’m thinking of Eastern Tennessee.
The problem is, Californians are moving to all the nice states and turning them into California.
Fairbanks Alaska. Been there. Didn’t want to leave. Good people, very laid back and everyone is armed to the teeth. Love the cold weather too. The only drawback would be the dark winter months, but I could get used to that.

In the area between Wilmington NC and New Bern NC along hwy 17. It has the cheapest coastal property which will allow you do fish and feed your family, and it is dark, dark RED in terms of politics. Two major military bases in Camp Lejeune and Cherry Point guarantee there will always be jobs.
Texas Hill Country probably is at the top of my list.
If only California would get its act together I’d love to go to the Monterey Bay area.
Hawaii is very actively seeking independence. Let’s give it to them before they realize that all welfare payments would stop. Hawaii would be like Haiti within 3-5 years. I visit there often because of my sister living there, the open hatred of white people is nearing a dangerous level.

The PNW esp. the Olympic Peninsula. Moderate climate, beaches and skiing and hiking and few people. We do have Walmarts and Home Depots for your spending pleasure.
