America is definitely not Europe, but we can find a number of parallels between European history and contemporary America. For example, weve previously written about the Italian Years of Lead as a possible template for urban unrest and low-level inter-tribal warfare in the United States. Another example of how things might play out in the United States is the Spanish Civil War.
The Spanish Civil War is known to historians, amateur and professional alike, as the dress rehearsal for the Second World War. It is so termed because it pitted one side which was equipped, armed and funded by Europes fascist regimes (Germany and Italy) against a government largely funded and propped up by the Soviet Union. However, it is worth noting that General Francisco Francos nationalist forces were not themselves fascist (though there were fascists within their ranks) and that Spain remained neutral during the Second World War, later becoming a close ally of the United States in the fight against Communism internationally.

Why do you keep posting that? You posted it on the last post...
“...Francisco Franco is still dead.”
The left-wing Christian tomb raiders of Spain is something everyone should research, if they want to know we are about to fight in this country.
IMO, the author is correct in that the next civil war in America will be more similar to the Spanish Civil War than America’s Civil War. Blow it off if you like, but I and others think there are lessons to be learned from the Spanish Civil War.
Lesson One: Don’t ally yourself with Nazis.
So the takeaway is how to avoid that labeling from sticking. There are many lessons to be learned. They're going to make us out to be "nationalists" - which in a way, we on the right are. Read the article. You may come away with more appreciation of the author's efforts to point out the similarities between what led up to the Spanish Civil War and what we see happening now.
Who are you implying ARE NAZIs now in America?
Interesting that you think that I am implying anything, but I’m not.
Now, is there something you would like to share with the rest of us?
Until the assassination of soft targets begins, fears of a civil war are overblown. Journalists are the softest of the soft targets. No one’s taking them out. Congressmen aren’t that well-protected, as Rand Paul and Steve Scalise will attest to. The Oklahoma City attack showed that these things don’t require much planning or resources.
When the Spanish Civil War broke out, generals on both sides were sharpening their swords and getting ready for the confrontation to come. It would not be surprising if high level people on both sides were involved in assassinations and bombings. Bail for operatives and money for operations had to be scrounged up. All of these things require significant planning and coordination. Why wouldn’t a bunch of independent groups do their own thing? Because people have wives and children to provide for and other kin who might get splashed in a tit for tat war. From a recruitment standpoint, it helps to have a widows and orphans fund, and infrastructure to treat people wounded in action or in need of a safe house after an operation.
Most civil wars look like Russia 1917 or Spain 1935. The competing sides are mixed among each other.
Unlike the first American Civil War.
Americans will benefit by realizing this.
No similarities here...
The Second to be lined up against the wall are Business Leaders Who Are Woke.
Exactly so.
The closer parallel to the American Civil War as far as separation of populations is actually the recent Sri Lankan War, 1983-2009. The Tamils were concentrated in the north and east of Ceylon, the Sinhalese in the center-south.
When the shooting starts, let’s remember to remind everyone involved who started shooting first...
The Spanish started falling into the civil war state of mind around the start of the Spanish Republic in 1931.
There were several abortive starts during the republic, as both the left and the right attempted coups against the republic several times. The killing started in the process of these coups. The actual war started after yet another failure of a coup.
Its as if Spain had to kick-start the civil war several times before it “caught”. You may see that.
Or you may see the equivalent of the Irish “troubles” for some time before an actual war.
Its surprising how little that matters (who shot first) when the bodies start piling up.
