Jim Parsons shared on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon that he and husband Todd Spiewak contracted COVID-19 back in March.
On Monday night Parsons told Fallon of his experience with the coronavirus.
We didnt know what it was, we know we had colds and we lost all sense of smell and taste, the Hollywood actor told Fallon. It defied the descriptions for me, I didnt realize how taste and smell could be gone.
After describing his time learning about his diagnosis, Parsons said that he and his partner grieved not being able to taste any of the food at home, as eating more became a favorite activity during the pandemic. The conversation then moved on to the two television stars discussing what kept them busy during quarantine.
Parsons said that he has busied himself with creative writing classes and bleaching his hair, the latter which Fallon also did, though years ago.
Fallon then noted that the last time Parsons appeared on the show, he was still acting on the Big Bang Theory. When asked about what life was like after the show ended, Parsons likened it to a death.
It reminds me when someone died or passes and it feels so monumental for a moment and you think its never going to end then nine months go by and youre like life carries on. It was bittersweet when it ended but I feel fine.
Watch the entire segment below.
I've always wondered, does a person who makes $27 million dollars a year take the time to file for unemployment?
Bleaching his hair?
Good grief.
Did he apply his eye-liner and
get his nails done too?
Just a couple weeks ago 3 guys were trying to track down a small ammonia leak in a factory, and after they all took their masks off, the first guy to the area didn’t smell it at all. The other 2 guys were amazed he couldn’t smell it.
Turns out he tested positive for COVID.
some are hypochondriacs that love to talk and exaggerate their illnesses...almost revel in it...
No, Dude, you don't have a husband. You have a queer bedmate.
lol... kinda.
The show had great characters but was very smutty.
Yes. After six months now I do know someone who got it. She said she first realized it when she forgot about a pot on the stove. She went in to the kitchen and it was smoking but she didn’t smell it at all.
No, I'll pass.
That prissy swish is disgusting.
And the show he "starred" in was also.
All of them.
Dumbest damned thing on television, except for all the other dumbest damn shows on television.
I saw “Penny” wearing an Obama T-shirt for several minutes on one episode. Not a good look for her.
The loss of smell/taste is temporary. Not a fun thing to go through, Im sure, but sounds like he and his partner faired pretty well if that was their main problem.
You didnt miss much. Even by sitcom standards it was dreadful.
Absolutely hilarious series.
So many great lines to use every day.
I had nasal polyps, Lost taste and smell. Notice it when I went into the Yankee Candle store.
When Jim Parsons gets together with a group of his pals...
The Big Bang Theory, stops being a theory.
Are visits to the throne more pleasant now?
I never smoked but everyone else in my family did, and I’m the only one still alive. My mother told me that smokers lose taste and smell, but not having ever smoked, I don’t know if it’s true.
Then you relax and think “It’s going to be a good day!”
After all this time I know a family with it. One of my best friends has a daughter and grandkids that lives with her. Daughter is a corrections officer and got it at work. The daughter and all 3 kids tested positive. The daughter - mild symptoms. The 5 year old girl grandchild - fever. Neither of the boy grandchildren have any symptoms even though they tested positive. My friend has had 3 tests now....all negative.
