“Gates said something about me not knowing what I was doing,” Musk told Swisher. “It’s like, ‘Hey, knucklehead, we actually make the vaccine machines for CureVac, that company you’re invested in.'” He was referring to the fact that Tesla manufactures equipment for the German biopharmaceutical firm CureVac.

He receives a far better return from TSLA than any drug dealer could dream of.
Just look at TSLA’s P/E!

Musk is probably reacting from anger about the outrageous hindrances against productive businesses in Democrat states. He should have established facilities in the less stylish but more conservative states.
I wish Musk success but he needs to decouple from China. He needs to understand his Shanghai factory means squat. Move it elsewhere or get tariffed.

Did you see his sportscar, Tesla Roadster #1, launched into interplanetary space? The guy is a visionary marketer. He's also a technical genius, who routinely follows up on what his engineers are doing and astonishes them. He burns the midnight oil of micromanagement, yet he's astonishingly capable at finding smart people and turning them loose on problems worth solving.
He's coming for you and you'll go willingly because his value proposition will make perfect sense to you!
People here grouse about him because he sucks up to liberal eco-enthusiasts and got massive subsidy. What they don't realize is he was just playing in the same field as a bunch of con artists only he had a viable product and they didn't, and he was sincere where they were just glib. That money for solar and eco-friendly causes was flying into the pockets of Obama-administration-connected fraudsters (cough, Solyndra) and he siphoned some of it off into actual productive enterprise.
