Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey is extending the order requiring facial coverings in public places until Nov. 8.
The governor announced the extension at a press conference today in Montgomery.
Ivey and State Health Officer Dr. Scott Harris issued the mask order effective July 16 as the state saw increasing numbers of coronavirus cases. The order was extended twice, most recently on Aug. 27, and was set to expire Friday. It is now extended through Sunday, Nov. 8.
Ivey mentioned the national election as one reason for extending the order past Nov. 3.
I want everyone to (vote) and to be able to do it safely," she said, adding that Alabamas coronavirus case numbers saw consistent decline after the mask order was instituted.

Had Bentley not diddled the help, she would never have been more than Lt. Governor, and a footnote in AL history.
For the most part, she has been okay, but not on CV-19.
In Alabama’s case, I think there’s a litle Granny Kay mother henning in the mix. In Pennsylvania’s case, I think there’s some Napoleon Complex in the mix.

I live in Huntsville and we’ve noticed an increasing number of stores that are ignoring this as well. We encountered two employees not wearing masks in one store. They exclaimed just a minute and we’ll put our masks on. When we told them not to bother, they said that would be great.
BTW, I predicted this extension and the end date a couple of weeks ago. Just ask my wife.
My sister works at Wally World and thought she was going to be a Karen when they cut store hours and started enforcing masks. I told her yeah, that’ll last until someone punches you right in the mouth. Shut up, wear your face didey, do your job, and let the door greeters get the scrapes and bruises.
REPUBLICAN Ducey...what’s that old saying about the two wings of the same bird of prey?
A bit of rebellion in soviet-occupied East Tennessee...Hawkins County Mayor Jim Lee allowed their mask mandate to EXPIRE...cowardly Mayors in neighboring counties extended their mandates, including rural Unicoi County, which has less than twenty active cases out of a population of 18,000, and ONE DEATH since the beginning of the year. ONE. Wear your mask, bitches!
Went to a gun-show last weekend ,had a large sign at the door wear a mask,,, the cop and the money men at the door didn't have masks on ,,, maybe 12-15 people out of a couple hundred inside had one on.....
Trump needs to END the ‘national emergency’...TOO MUCH money being disbursed.
Ping to the Face Diaper State list.
Granny at it again.
How did she get out of the kitchen in the first place??? She should take a vacation to Gambia.
Oh. I am in Alabama. Don’t mind wearing a War Eagle mask. In all seriousness, we in Bama are making progress on getting this thing under control. I know all the live free or die arguments around masks, we got it.
The one thing that really annoys me is we have to wear the face coverings at the HS football games.
For the most part, she has been okay, but not on CV-19.
Ill be damned. She raised gas taxes the first chance she got, not to mention the above BS mask order. I have a list of all the legislators that voted for that tax increase. I will do my best to primary them when the time comes.

Yep and it has not been mentioned anywhere but social media. Had a republican said it, itd be top story. So sick of double standard.
Thanks for the ping. I didn’t know about the mask wearing extension.
Yeah, I had forgotten about that, but (and my memory could be wrong) I believe that there was momentum for this before she took office.
If she is able to run again, I will vote against her in the primary.
Governor Deuce is a joke, just not funny. Seems to be more people not wearing masks in various stores, but still way too many wearing them.
Or gasoline taxes
