Politicians decisions can dramatically affect millions of people, entire cities, states, the nation and other countries.
Same with Judges, cops, teachers etc. Their decisions can destroy people. Yet most all these people in these positions are not subjected to random drug tests like millions of other Americans.
Now, with arguably the most important election in modern American history, one of the presidential candidates flat out refuses to take a test prior to the debate. Biden could be elected president of the most powerful country on the planet, yet he's not subjected to random drug tests?
I find this to very odd not to mention a colossal double standard.
Your “simple yes or no” is a strawman question. That’s where the deceit and distraction is. My answer is honest, truthful, and useful. But of course you don’t get it. See the tagline net.
Your simple yes or no is a strawman question.
Asking for a yes or no answer to the above question is your idea of a strawman question?
Wowza.
Because it would be too much fun for us. Can you imagine? hahahaha
It is a textbook strawman. You’ve reduced it all to one item ignoring all the other factors.
If Biden peed clean would you vote for him? Of course not. Cause he’s an idiot. High idiot. Not high idiot. The common factor is idiot. I’m much more interested in keeping idiots out of office than their pee.
Ferrrget it stu. Watching you dance, duck, dodge and deceive becomes boring.
Have danced ducked dodged or deceived once. Maybe you need to take a drug test. Could be that’s why you can’t understand the very simple concept I’ve put forth. You must be HIGH.
At least a breathalyzer before each vote.
“Why are politicians not subjected to random drug tests like millions of other Americans?”
Heck, other than booze, pot and maybe a little meth Congre$$ is pretty clean.
Because criminal statutes cannot be a condition of the people expressing their will in electoral politics within a democratic republic.
At minimum it would require a constitutional amendment.
“Hourly employees get tested.”
You might find that lower level employees are not given the chance to get at anything above secret information, or as little as sensitive. And are not given the chance at multiple parts of a sensitive file either. Top secret and above is not within their level and they won’t see that.
The Executive Branch, through E.O. 12333 as amended, has chosen to control dissemination of information to only those with the need-to-know. So while they will be allowed, within a closed meeting, to discuss certain parts of top secret and above information, they will only be allowed to stay within the topic they are working with and information applied to it. Can a congressman walk into the FBI or CIA an say I need the file on such and such? No, This is why there is an intelligence committee and FISA to interpret the classified need.
The EO is a lot more than just yes you can or no you can’t. It establishes guidelines:

By the time one is sworn in, drugs would be out of their system.
Why are millions of Americans tested for drugs?
That's the question I'm curious about.
We didn't used to be. I'm old enough to remember when drug testing was extremely rare, pretty much reserved only for those who operated heavy machinery or transported passengers. We seemed to do just fine.
