Flubros and Flubras! Day 187 (a place for Flubros and Flubras)

It’s just the flu, bro.

Yesterday had the fewest CV deaths reported by Worldometer for the USA since 5 July. The big drop is starting. The big drop in deaths and herd immunity already happened in the Northeast but they kept their lockdown rules. The difference with the red states is that they won’t keep a lockdown once their deaths drop, and that is about to happen.

More stupid Coronavirus stimulus talk. Some might think Trump needs a stimulus prior to the election. I disagree. His base will be even more excited to vote for him with no additional stimulus because ultimately this stimulus winds up being some combination of future taxes or inflation. His base is hurt by stimulus.

Not sure where Kozaks numbers come from.

John Hopkins University numbers as of 09/27/20

total tests - 97,728,551
09/27/20 tests - 700,898
total positives - 7,080,459
09/27/20 positives - 35,289
total fatalities - 196,869
09/27/20 fatalities - 307

Positivity rating, (a term that’s not spoken about much lately) is the ratio of positive cases divided by the number of tests. When the number of tests given per day goes up while the number of positives is still going down, that means the virus is running out of non-immune hosts to infect. This trend would be affected by a combination of mitigation efforts, demographics, and herd immunity.

09/06/20 positivity rate: 7.59
09/13/20 positivity rate: 7.47
09/20/20 positivity rate: 7.35
09/27/20 positivity rate: 7.25

07/19/20 Peak daily cases: 68,780
Days since Peak: 70

*note
Positive cases include results from previously tested positive patients.

The big drop started on April 22 when deaths fell off the max of Apri 21 which had 2700 deaths. But then the second wave hit starting July 7th. And now it’s dipping again, but with the cold weather it will tick upwards again.

My numbers (JHUs numbers) don’t include US territories but still wouldn’t reach those numbers.

I live in Florida, where our state “mandates” have been released and the governor also dissolved all the municipal “mandates” that various leftist cities had ordered, and said that no fines may be applied to people who refuse to wear masks. But guess what...the stores and restaurants are actually refusing to go to full occupancy, people are refusing to take off their masks, etc.

One restaurant hostess actually told me that she was very angry at DeSantis because the most important thing is “to be safe.” I was so annoyed that I turned around and left, saying that I guess they didn’t need my business after all.

People have been so brainwashed and terrified - plus there is the political aspect, which is that wearing masks and keeping your business nearly closed while declaring everything “unsafe” is considered to be a statement that you are against Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis and the Republican Party.

It’s going to be hard to get the left to let go of this, and unfortunately they dominate in many Florida cities.

“Some might think Trump needs a stimulus prior to the election. I disagree.”

Ditto. No more stimulus money.

And I thnk he’s crossing the line when it comes to pandering to black voters. Enough already. Have heard he’s slipping with Asian voters so maybe he needs to spend some time paying attention to them. They and the Hispanics actually believe in working for a living instead of expecting handouts.

“then the second wave hit starting July 7th.”

And we don’t even know thatfor SURE. All we “know” is what TPTB tell us, and they’re committed to being crepe hangers when it comes to influencing the election. Higher numbers increase the chaos and fear.

“It’s going to be hard to get the left to let go of this,”

Surprisingly and annoyingly, some who call themselves conservative will not let go, either.

If the masks were truly helpful, the people in cities where Trump has had his rallies would’ve been dropping like flies by now. Yet the cases and deaths are decreasing. Don’t people know that?

“then the second wave hit starting July 7th.”

My data suggests the second wave started mid June and reflects a point when the viral infections jumped from urban to rural areas.

Wave talk has been a pack of lies. You really just have regional differences and it ultimately fizzles out once 20% have had it. Some places got to 20% faster than others.

People are extremely disappointing to me.
I didn’t realize how many are cowards.

I played in a volleyball league on Tuesday.
9 of the 12 wore masks. All young and healthy.
I’m by far the oldest at 45, with most in their 20’s.

Yours is an important post. This is what gives me concerns about the election.

The psyche of the nation has been damaged probably for a decade all to destroy President Trump.

The virus is real.
The response is the hoax.

I think the declining rates need to be better publicized, but the problem is that people don’t want to believe it...somehow this feeling of threat and forced government imposed “protection” is very appealing to people. Also, forcing it on others appears to give them a real thrill.

The Nextdoor app, which I use for looking for a good plumber, learning about a street closing, etc. is nothing but Karen/Stasi central now, with people screaming that they saw some teenagers walking around without masks...and we have never even had an outdoor “mask mandate,” it was unofficially imposed by the Karens. And yes, there are theoretically conservative Karens too.
