It’s Positive,
Until it’s Not.
I wonder if it
Could help me get
Bunnies at the 50yd.

Mostly silent too.

Love as Well.
Hey, I report, you decide. Even at half that distance, I wouldn’t wanna be on that guy’s bad side.
heh heh heh heh
The 10mm. The gun that was too much for many in the FBI.
A dangerous myth.
At 200 yards, a .45 ACP has as much energy as a .455 Webley at the muzzle.
At 800 yards, it has more energy than a .41 rimfire at the muzzle. It has a velocity over 400 feet per second at that range.
At a thousand yards, it has dropped to a bit over 350 feet per second. It probably would not penetrate clothes and skin, but would bruise you pretty well and could easily put out an eye or break teeth.
Out of an 8 round mag I might hit a 20” square target 3-4 times, and there’s no dents on n the steel because it’s an old cut up 5’ saw blade from a sawmill. Super hard, way high grade steel I welded to a chunk of rebar and drove into the ground like a spike. 200 yards is the longest range target I can put on my new property I just bought about 6 months ago outside of Los Fresnos TX
10mm... Good choice.
10mm is best millimeter. :-)
But Wray may bring it out of mothballs if his handlers order him to suppress pro-Trump rallies in a more direct way. /s
FMJ-RN? 180gr? Yep. 12-14” average on gel tests. 8-10” is considered optimal to reduce over penetration. That’s using the original SAAMI spec powder loads/pressures.
However, any kind of hollowpoint hits that sweet spot. And with a lot more oompff...
Our “private range day” training included “adjusted point of aim” to counter just the sort of ambush this agent experienced. It allowed hits or close misses to force the attackers to seek cover while we evaded or aggressed . 360 meters was my limit for 50% hits on a 55 gal drum.
Used a Browning HiPower in 40SW converted back to 9mm to shoot IMI 124gr +P+. Built for us by Bill Laughridge’s Cylinder & Slide Shop with 15 round Mec-Gar mags.
Hot shit back then an today. 9mm was plentiful especially in central and south america where we were deployed. Was working JTF-6 narcotics interdiction and that IMI ammo was a great load for both the MP-5 and the BHP conversions we carried. Still carried 147 grain OSM for MP5SDA3’s trunk guns but the 124 IMI+P+ was our EDC ammo.
360 meters was my best shot with irons using adjusted point of aim concept....
Back in my EOD days in the 80’s. Fun times.
Would caused some massive sheeple panic indeed ...... read that somewhere . Crazy professionals thought that one up over some good bourbon I think.
Sorry, no. Completely lawful.
Even if it were in his shoulder, but it’s not. It rests on his chest.
ATFE ruling on technicality agree.
see post#38, it is till the BATFags change their mind
Check this out.
Military Snipers Could Soon Be Using “Guided” Bullets
It’s all thanks to a DARPA project.
Soviet and other rifles used to have sights “good” out to 2k meters. The object was “area fire.” A bunch of troops behind cover could make life very spicy for opfor downrange.
Nobody does that any more.
I have heard of basically untrained African troops setting their AK sights to max range, thinking, that would make them hit way out that far.
White man’s magic.
I actually did a bit of SWAG ballistic study for an SKS firing 762/39 Rusky (with a way MOA up-angled offset-side-mounted scope) to come up with the opposite-side-stands stadium shot in Enemies Foreign And Domestic.
That fictional SKS shooter was a lot closer than this 10mm pistolero, and even then, the 762/39 was subsonic and keyholing.
That said, I would not want to be hit in the face, neck, arm or chest with 124 grains moving sideways at about 900 fps.
And the far-side upper deck of a stadium is a pretty forgiving area target.
(Unless it was 2020, and the stands were empty.)
