You can publish to Amazon exclusively or use an aggregator site like smashwords to go ‘wide’. Being exclusive to Amazon allows you to join Kindle unlimited which functions as a library where you are paid based on how many pages of your book is read. The rate is usually around $4.5 per thousand pages read.

Copywrite wise you can file to register it. Costs around $50. They’ll mail you a certificate a couple weeks later.
