An Army initiative to create a stronger, fitter fighting force has yielded a dramatic gender gap, raising questions about whether the service might unintentionally compound barriers for women trying to move up the ranks.

There might be a few women who qualify for combat. But only a few. Probably not the type to get asked to the high school prom either.

There are quite a few men who DON'T qualify for combat. Not all men are warriors. Nothing wrong with that either. Not that they are necessary swishing sissies. They just aren't as tough. That's cool. Those men can also be useful in support roles in our military.

Is that like saying a little tank is just as good as a big tank in combat?

If women can’t admit that as a group they have less physical strength than men then there’s no hope for them. Actually, not “them” but their feminist mouthpieces.

In their testing the military needs to recognize that different assignments require different skills and physical abilities.

However, the dude may be in a support or rear echelon unit. That doesn't mean he won't be called to fight. We had a great deal of rear echelon guys in WW2 who became infantrymen.

IF you can't pass the test the military isn't for you.
