The cop standing next to him seemed to have no reaction.
You know what...if the cops cannot defend themselves then they shouldn’t be out there. The Rules of Engagement with rioters needs to change ASAP.
Why doesn’t the black community object to this violence against cops?

Police on bicycles is just nuts. Where are the horses? BIG horses intimidate crowds while bicycles make the cops look weak, ineffective and effeminate.
You never heard of a rioter taking a horse from a cop.

This seems to be the latest policing fad — they have to use a PA system to “declare an unlawful assembly.” Why not just skip that silly formality and start cracking heads open?
I imagine that requirement comes from the namby-pamby ultra-leftist city councils.
In Portland, they will make that declaration ten to fifteen times before doing anything. It’s like the parent making the hollow threat to the unruly kid — “If you do that just one more time, I’ll...I’ll...paddle your bottom so hard you won’t sit down for a week.”
Bike cops have their place in a civil society. We’re well past that.

Because the black community just KNOWS the police are racist, have an open season on blacks, and dead black bodies are stacked like cordwood all around the nation.

They are ridiculous in riots.
In all fairness, this is Seattle. Most of those cops probably voted for the current mayor and governor, and many of them might even support the riots.
Shoot them.
What I don't understand is why there is no sniper overwatch.
A rioter hits an officer in the head with a bat or shoots at an officer, they have forfeited their life. The ROE needs to keep up with the situation - and this ain't no "protest".
If cities, counties and states don’t do something about this soon (i.e., right now), then we are probably going to live in a lawless society forevermore. It really is the point of no return.
I was fishing in a city park, and a bike cop just materialized at my shoulder. Glad I had a license.
