“Mayor Garcetti, and Nancy Pelosi are spear heading the charge to help make California the zombie apocalypse capital of the world.”
Its not already?
Possibly the intention is for the San Andreas Fault to finally snap, thereby allowing California to float out beyond the territorial limits of the United States.
California thus could declare itself an INDEPENDENT NATION, one having a national government FREE of the constraints of the United State’s Constitution.
My family’s home state for six generations. We started out dirt poor, subsistence farming. Successive generations started businesses, and all worked their asses off. After four generations, we were relatively solid. Things were looking positive for my folks and our immediate family through the early ‘90’s. It’s all changed dramatically since then. It is now a complete Through The Looking Glass dynasty of warped elites, failed schools, and dysfunctional governance. Am in one of the few remaining places with a mix of perspectives/political affiliations, but it’s changing quickly. Tragic stuff given how amazing the place was for so many for decades. No more.
I may move there if CA real estate gets cheap in enough . I hear the local property taxes are reasonable.
Moved out after 30 years one year ago this week, best move I ever made. Best thing besides lower rent is you can drive 75 on the freeways and actually drive the speed limit.
If nothing else, their ‘16 popular vote win built on California won’t be happening this time around. And we’ll get several house seats back there.
Power outages, fire, COVID, and the gig union (AB5) issue on top of the regular tax crime, and immigration problems. WHAT A PARADISE !
Everything is fine where I’m at. We’re ready to leave if things get bad though. Nobody wears masks around here. Especially at the little market down the mountain in the village where they keep my beer ice cold.
You could have asked my older brother anytime in the last 35 years, but last Thursday he drove out of that sh!thole never to return. I am sure he will engage you either with heated verbiage or hot lead.
Like living in Tijuana in allot of places.
Lived there for a few years in the mid ‘80s. Weather was great (except for the smog), rent was too damn high and there was too much crime.
What i noticed was that the overall quality of the people was lower than what i was used to.
The feral state never gets better the out house is full.
Expensive. I have read stories on Nextdoor app of people getting 50% increase in their DWP bill for electric.
They never send out a reduced bill : )
People replying are saying that they just guess instead of reading the meter so you have to get them to come out. There must be a way to easily read the meter yourself so you know what the usage is.
Theres a pandemic, but Southern California home prices are at record levels:
