“...whipping around its star on an orbit that takes just 3.14 days. “

~~~
An earth day is a completely arbitrary unit of time outside of earth and our solar system. There is no cosmic significance to Pi as a temporal interval of some other random planet’s orbital period.
Life can only exist on a planet like ours and the other factors that surround our planetary system. End of story. Period.
Or.... The exoplanet orbits its star in one day...its own day.
Exoplanet Days Matter.
“Oh they say that there’s a Pi up in the sky
Waiting for me when I die
But between the day you’re born and the day you die
No one seems to hear you when you cry.”
That’s some circular logic.
... it's so close to its star that its surface would be hellaciously hot. It would heat up to around 450 Kelvin (177 degrees Celsius, or 350 degrees Fahrenheit).
350°F is the perfect temperature...............for baking a Pi......................
"Light-years" is also an earth-centric measurement.
The planet probably has the same side facing its star all the time. So maybe the dark side of the planet wouldn't be quite as hot.
Likely tidally locked and subject tlo massive and frequent soar flares - a high radiation environment were life as we know it would fry like bacon.
Obviously- If one could speed up or slow down the length of time for this planets day then the value of PIE would change across the entire universe.
"Life can only exist on a planet like ours and the other factors that surround our planetary system. End of story. Period."
Not end of story. That's an unjustified conclusion.
