It all seems par for the course for Cleveland.
Baker Mayfield bounced back from a rough first week to lead the Cleveland Browns over the Joe Burrow-led Cincinnati Bengals, 35-30, on Thursday night. And approximately 6,000 fans were fortunate enough to watch in person when Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine announced earlier this month that 6,000 could attend despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Browns (1-1) prepared fans with a detailed video on their website that delved into social distancing and safety protocols for FirstEnergy Stadium. Everyone attending had to sign a health promise and had specific entry times and locations. There were even single-serve condiments to help prevent the spread of the disease.
What the Browns didnt take into account is a fight breaking out. And thats exactly what happened in the home opener.

I went to a hockey game and a football game broke out..................
The Browns have fans?
More fight than both defenses put up, that’s for sure.
Never. I predict that it will never happen.
....6,000 fans were fortunate enough to watch in person.....
Fortunate?
You could ask the same question about the Bengals.
You’d think it would be Pittsburgh, but no... the most jawing and trolling I’ve seen at Browns games were by Cincy fans.
The team itself may not deserve it based on their performance over the last multitude of decades, but their fans are very loyal.
And nobody in Cleveland cared.
If the fans get arrested for fighting at a football game, why can’t the players? And if people on the street can be arrested for inciting a riot, and aren’t often enough, why can’t the players? And if kids in a high school can be punished for being told not to take flags representing brave people on the field, and doing it anyway, why can’t the football players be punished for disrespecting a flag that serves the same purpose?
I guess this doesn’t fall under the term “privileged.”

I attended Bills games in the 90s and there would be at least a couple fights in the end-zone seats (cheap seats where the out-of-town fans and Bills fans would mix) each and every game.
Now there hasnt been a fight in a few years already. It speaks to both the vastly increased security at football and all public events, the non-stop push to reduce drinking, and perhaps also in some ways societys feminization and neutering of men.
I wonder if they had been drinking.
...I wonder if they had been drinking.
Yah Think? What else is there to do at the game?
No matter how much the players and league insult you and denigrate the country, you’ll still go back for more.
Good thing they were never in attendance during the 50's & 60's at games between, for example, the:
