I heard on the news that satellite data is showing the smoke from the West Coast (California, Oregon, Washington) has reached Michigan.
I am smelling smoke in my place in Louisiana (well West of Tropical Storm Sally). I know of no one burning, and I went outside to see if I could smell.
I have two cats, and one of them at the same time smelled something.
Even though it is hot, I have opened a couple of windows to allow more air in my home. I do have smoke detectors.
Maybe I have a vivid imagination or someone is burning something nearby.
I would imagine folks in Arizona, Nevada, Montana, and maybe other states are affected by the poor air quality...
People living in large cities may have very poor air quality this time of year. I am not in a large city...
Uh, all the way?
How far East?
Until in mingles with the smoke from burned out businesses in St Louie I guess...
I spoke to someone in MN today that said the weather was “smoky.”
During Mt. St. Helens eruption in May 1980, the ash cloud, while dissipated, was over New England. We had some really colorful sunsets even here.
lmao
Well if it is from us the smoke should smell very stale. I do not know honto describe the smell of stale smoke but it is quite different than fresh smoke if that makes any sense.
It’s here in north Texas.
Not terrible, but it gives the sky a hazy hue.
“I spoke to someone in MN today that said the weather was smoky.”
Minneapolis. Today is sunny but the sky is a strange grey color, not blue.
Oh yeah. The skies in Tucson have been nuts. Like “hurry up and start filming your post apocalypse movie” red sun creepy grey nasty. Which is weird cause in June the north face of the Catalina mountains burned down and it wasn’t nearly like this.
Noticeably smoky haze in central Iowa.
It had been pretty hazy last week in Phoenix but today, it’s pretty clear up my way (North Phoenix).
I noticed the rising sun this morning was just a disk in the haze. I wondered if the smoke hadn’t gotten here (Indiana) and caused that.
We’ve been getting it in Utah on and off for weeks now. It’s never been this bad.
A few weeks ago, there was an article about Kansas seeing it.
It’s visible from space.
Similar in Omaha, Nebraska. Very hazy, thought I could actually SMELL smoke this morning, but probably not. I think there have been some fires in CO, though, so maybe.
That’s just cause it’s so flat here. We can see a long ways.
Yesterday, it said the smoke is in Europe.
Colorado is closer to the East, and has its own massive fires now.
