As we continually witness attacks on LEOs and Arson we all know that these prosecutions will take years and years. I say enough! I suggest that we accelerate the prosecutions and trials that are coming. Suggestion for Capital Crimes, if there is absolute, positive proof of a crime, get the Perps before Grand Juries within two weeks, get the Perps to Trial within four weeks and if found guilty the Perp shall meet his Maker immediately after trial. Your comments please...!
Street justice is the court of final appeal. Be judicious.
No thank you. We are not a banana republic...not yet, anyway.
I'm not kidding either. There's numerous videos on platforms such as LiveLeaks of what mobs in third world countries do to common street thieves and murderers after losing faith in the established criminal justice system.
It was quick, not painless. There were no appeals. These folks spent their last moments alive looking praying for cops to arrest them.
Sure would shorten the quarterly fundraiser drive.
Lawyers have run the country for a long time, and specific law schools have way too much input into government (actually, they should have NONE as institutions). Justice is what they desire it to be.
Attorneys are about 0.433% of the population, but they have immense control over pretty much every aspect of our lives. They have their own branch of government (the Judicial), and are 47% of the current Senate. Their numbers in the House have decreased since the peak, but they are still ~27% of the House. 59% of US Presidents have been attorneys. For comparison, there are 3 physicians in the Senate, and physicians are 2.4% of the House.
It’s no wonder that health care ‘reform’ has been a huge political target, but legal reform never has been.
It’s out of control, and needs to change - dramatically. This board has been full of commentary about how people like Scooter Libby and General Flynn had to spend themselves into debt in order to pay for necessary legal representation. Yet, we have no equivalent of ‘Medicare’ to help pay for legal representation. There are some legal ‘insurance’ plans available, but they are limited in what they pay for, and clearly would not have protected Libby or Flynn, or any of us in a serious situation from having to deplete our savings in order to defend ourselves.
On the other hand, individuals and businesses have to pay for liability insurance to protect themselves from lawsuits. So we have insurance to protect us FROM attorneys, but generally none to cover attorney costs to protect us.
Who benefits when trials go on and on? Who benefits from endless filed motions and requested interrogatories? Think hourly billing rates..
I’m not indicting all attorneys, and I know lots of attorneys who are hard working and good people. I also know that our legal system is broken, and that attorneys are way, way overrepresented in government. Regarding the ridiculous input of law schools into government, there are plenty of pinheads among the faculty and alumni of Yale and Harvard law schools (e.g. Hillary who flunked the DC bar). These institutions should have ZERO institutional input into how our government runs.
The police are winning for us, when they arrest a violent drug criminal and initiate or add to the criminal’s record. It will be a great help to those who later defend themselves against the criminal.
Self-defense is emphasized now as the best way to decrease crime. Get trained, get insured, be impeccable and be careful. Focus on home and car security, and get those covered.
Too common sense to work, AND many in the judicial system would suffer diminished income or even lose their jobs.
Lately its been the court of first appeal. Get justice before the facts get in the way.
Saul Alinsky strategy... overwhelm the system... slow it down so it is effectively unresponsive.
Further evidence that an immoral society is incapable of self governance.
Foreign influence in our systems took some time, but ultimately has proven effective.
They first attacked our morality.
and won
Careful how much you sniffle - folks might mistake you for Biden...
Hope your doctor has some good meds to help with the depression.
Strait out of the Clinton’s playbook, delay, delay, delay. Justice delayed justice denied.
Still waiting for the Ft. Hood Major to hang.
