Best September 11th movie?
Go!!
I watched the real thing unfold on tv that day. I don’t need a f’n movie about it.
The one made by the Naudet brothers. IIRC, it has the only known footage taken from inside Tower 1.
Yes!
Truly well done!
I will look that one up
Theres a documentary filmed by two brothers that I like.. it started as a documentary of a new fireman at Engine 7/Ladder 1/Battalion 1 Firehouse on Duane Street in Lower Manhattan. They caught the first plane hitting while out filming something else. Then one was in the burning tower with firefighters when second plane hit.
Thats the one I was referring to..
None. They are all crap. They do not reflect what happened that day. I lived it.
This is the documentary about the rookie firefighter, that just happened to be filmed on the day of the disaster, right? This is the film where you hear the bodies falling on the pavement and awnings outside. It's a chilling sound to hear.
Bttt
nothing can come close to the real thing eh?
The one I saw first hand. Brutal on the senses and very poignant and not forgettable. Ever.
Yes, and Jules Naudet said in an interview (I think a clip is in that film) that the sound of the bodies falling was “just SO LOUD” . . . he looked to me like was about to tear up.
I saw an aerial view of some of those bodies when perusing the various tribute sites yesterday. I’m grateful that I’ve forgotten which site.
Best Tiananmen Square movie?
That’s the one that had the sounds of the bodies hitting the pavement? I’ll never forget that sound.
United 93
Nothing. It’s very surreal. It’s like the human mind wasn’t made to absorb certain things.
You know it’s real but you wonder if you are dreaming.
They had everybody they could find taking blood that day and she took forever so I knew it was real then. I kept the cloth for some reason.
The only physical item I have from that day is the bloody cloth.
For some reason is a very powerful reminder when I look at it
I called the families of fireman friends who died. I call them every year
Of course the kids are adults now
There is one film that stands above all the others: The Path to 9/11.
It was shown exactly ONCE on ABC broadcast television in 2006. Rotten Tomatoes wrote The Path to 9/11 garnered controversy for its questionable depiction of the Clinton administration’s failings related to the threat. Guess why it was never shown again.
I recorded it on VHS, but recorded over the tapes. Rare DVDs are available, but probably of lousy quality made from the original broadcast.
