I remember being so pumped up from this and this speech will live on for a long time. Bush had a 90 percent approval rating at that time. Loved him in his first term but he lost me in his second term.

The only reason he saved his betrayal on amnesty for his second term was 9/11.

Realized George wasn’t for us the moment Harriet Myers was nominated.

“Loved him in his first term but he lost me in his second term.”

Uh, it was in his first term that he invaded Iraq - one of “the stupidest foreign policy decisions in American history,” as Trump says.

Bush was a disastrous president BOTH TERMS.

“The only reason he saved his betrayal on amnesty for his second term was 9/11.”

Bush did not protect us from 9-11. For some reason, freepers don’t believe in accountability when it comes to Bush and 9-11.

Bush did not order profiling at airport gates. In fact, he opposed profiling. The 9-11 terrorists were grateful I’m sure.

Bush did not crack down on visa overstays and other aspects of illegal immigration. Many of the 9-11 terrorists were in the country illegally - they were illegal immigrants.

Bush was president when 9-11 happened. Please don’t tell me he has no responsibility for something that big happening on his watch.

Bush is dead to me and it’s becoming more and more clearer that he and his old man orchestrated or knew about 9/11.
Go ahead Mods, delete this post or suspend me. Don’t care anymore.

Emotional moment in history. Too bad he turned out to be such a disappointment.

911 was the culmination of 8 years of the Clinton criminal cabal that put BJs and pocket lining ahead of national security and the Rats and RINOs like Bush wanted them back in the WH in 2016.

W’s finest moment.

And then he invaded Iraq. His worst moment.

(That’s if you don’t county 9-11 itself as his worst moment. Unlike other freepers, I don’t automatically absolve Bush of responsibility for not protecting us from a major terrorist attack on his watch)

Still waiting for the people who did this to hear all of us soon. They never did. Only convenient targets to enrich the armaments oligarchs.

Bush had been president for three quarters of a year. He had not tightened security at airports or border security. He can’t escape part of the responsibility for 9-11. It happened on his watch, and his liberal border policies, and refusal to impose profiling at airport gates was part of the problem.

That’s like saying Trump was President when covid and riots happened.

The Bush presidency will go down as the presidency when 9-11 happened. The history books are unlikely to absolve him of a measure of responsibility, he definitely didn’t “keep us safe” that day — that’s for sure!

The one thing to say in Bush’s defense is that maybe Cheney was the real president. Leftists have always claimed that, and maybe this is one claim where they’re not totally out to lunch.

God help me, as the W Presidency moves further and further in the rear view mirror it’s looking like the whacko Left may have been right about him.

When George Bush won his second term he said "I have political capitol and I intend to spend it". I thought he meant that he'd do things he actually promised the base. Instead he used his entire second term to repeatedly give the base the finger and try to force us to eat and excrement and amnesty sandwich. Over and over and over he showed that he really became President for two objectives: taking out Saddam and getting amnesty. It was all he cared about and he showed clearly that he held conservatives who weren't for amnesty in utter contempt.

He was a fake, a liar and a snake. By 2005 he'd used up all the goodwill he ever had as far as I'm concerned and I don't have nice things to say about him or the horse he rode in on.
