HHs one of the greats, says USA Today columnist Nancy Armour.
Kaepernick started kneeling for the national anthem in 2016, saying he couldnt stand in support of a flag that represents a country so oppressive to black people.
Kaepernick was nominated as a Contributor by Bob Birkett of Vermont, who was upset that he couldn't get Kaepernick a starting qb spot but figured out he could nominate him to the Hall of Fame.
Birketts letter said that, Mr. Kaepernick has shown exceptional courage in highlighting the damaging effects of racial injustice on black people and on our society as a whole. His respectful kneeling posture has created a powerful symbol for those who are oppressed by our society.
Armour backed that view, writing, Its hard to argue that Kaepernick, who sacrificed his career because he wanted to make his country better, doesnt at least deserve a debate.
It's hard to argue that Kaepernick didn't make waves in the NFL. Many fans have left the sport since the social justice warriors and virtue signaling took over. But did he do anything positive for the sport?
Kaepernicks on-field performance would not draw any consideration from Hall of Fame voters. His career touchdown passes (72) and passing yards (12,271) rank 174th and 167th, respectively, in league history. His record as a starter was a subpar 28-30.
The NFL Hall of Fame will soon be as meaningless as the nominations for a Nobel Peace Prize.
Just another reason to discard the NFL like yesterday’s stinking garbage.
If only we could be certain that it would do that. If so, I would vote to put him in the hall of fame. I have reached the point where I'd be happy to see all professional sports flushed.
Don’t forget Pulitzer Prizes which virtually NEVER were awarded to anything first-rate. SO predictably PC, maybe one percent of them in the field of literature have any staying power.Strictly “of the moment”, intended to burnish the idiot’s zeitgeist.
Do it NFL. Do it.
He’s like Biden. Really has done nothing great or even better than average but deserves the greatest kind of accolade.
It would almost be as bad as the ADL nominating Hitler for a posthumous hall of fame recommendation.
I bet this gets more press than does Donald’s Nobel nomination
Or soccer
LOL. Sure give this loser a spot NFL when a former league MVP winner like Roman Gabriel is still denied HOF status with 30,000 yards passing and over 200 TD’s.
If it happens, there will still be millions of fat old white men who ADORE their sportsball heroes. It’s a one way love that endures all.
FUTBAW AR WUT MAKE MERCANS TUFF!!!!!!!!11
Do it!
WHAT????
They could name him NFL Commissioner for life and most wouldnt care. The NFL is permanently dead to me.
Dumber than dumb. Only idiots would suggest this.
How many times can I not watch football ever again.
Not watching. Will never watch again.
They can do whatever they want.
Put a giant statue of him kneeling in front of the HOF.
Oh yes, he is great. A great big screw the pooch great!
That is one statue I would drive across the country to tear down!!!
But wait . . . I would wear a buzzard costume and crap on it first!!!
“...His respectful kneeling posture...”
How the h*ll is that “respectful”???????????????
> Kaepernick Nominated for NFL Hall of Fame <
Im all in favor of this! Furthermore, Im told that Kaepernick once watched a hockey game. Therefore, Kaepernick should also be nominated for the NHL Hall of Fame.
Anyone who thinks otherwise is obviously a racist.
If O.J. was not thrown out for his non-football activities, that is an excellent argument that Kaepernick should not be let in for his non-football activities. :)
